@Lying Cat, to give you some reference Austin voted to build a multi billion dollar solar farm 7 years ago. They adjourned the Friday meeting at lunch amd said they’d pick it back up Monday. So all the electrical experts went home. They came back and voted Friday afternoon to approve it. They had 4 running power plants at the time they voted each with decades of life left in them. So yeah I kinda agree with the first guy.

@BigJohnson86, well green energy solutions aren't a bad thing to invest in. However, horrible corner cutting methods are not ideal. Hence why like, greenland does not shutdown when it gets cold (which I think is all the time). Also hypothetically if all of the solar panels exploded the grid would be fine, it's only 3% of the grid. Wind is actually a surprisingly large amount of the grid at 25%.
Ouch. If you want an independent grid, don't half ass it
