Your wife must be white and basic AF. I know because my wife is white and basic AF. I’m a Latino, so it’s a helluva mix.
@Spadez7, my gf is half Latino, half white. She has the stereotypical attitude of the Latino, and the basic status of the basic white btch. Why it couldn’t be the other way around, I don’t know…
@fallingback09, because then she’d be to good for you?
@BigJohnson86, I love her either way. Adds excitement, but I think about it lol
@fallingback09, most latinos are part white. Latino isnt a race its an ethnicity.
@CocoasBro, Latinos mostly refers to the combination of the European and Latin American deecent. So yes you are correct, but at that point you can argue there are not races and only ethnicities. Black = African, Hispanic = Latin/Native American, White = European, Asian = well…Asia duh. None of which are races since I called their descent. Now can you have a white from Africa? Yes. That’s why we differentiate race from ethnicity. My gf’s father is a native Mexican. Mother, White American. Her, raised in America. Her race is half Latino and half white, ethnicity is North Carolinian, I guess
@CocoasBro, or race is essentially a non sequitur due to the vast capacity of each originating race to cross breed. Sorry, this I a lot of thought but as you brought up ethnicity vs race it really made me think
@fallingback09, Point of disagreement. Hispanic and latinos are actually a combination of Native american, white, and a splash of black here and there. So your girlfriend is probably just mostly white because the average racial breakdown of a mexican is about 60% native american and 40% White... maybe a little black here and there. Also Calling a race a non sequitur is like calling dog breeds a non sequitur. Just because a Labrador and a poodle can make a labradoodle doesnt mean that the genetic differences between a labrador and a poodle dont exist.
@CocoasBro, Hispanic and Latino are different ethnicities. Not the same at all. They are the same geographical area (sort of) but not the same at all. But dog breeds are highly different and a strange comparison so I can’t really line it up logically. What is the comparative word for “ethnicity” as it lines up to dogs if “breed” is to “race”? The origin of their discovery? If that’s the case, ethnicity is a non sequitur, and words like “Hispanic” and “Latino” are racially named misnomers since they actually refer to geographic origin combinations. If my genetics are “enough” to say I’m Native American, but have white skin, which do I fall under? Our labeling in America is a sloppy mess.
@fallingback09, I think were misunderstanding one another.
I know hispanics and latinos are a different ethnicity but on average the racial breakdown of these ethnicities is part native american and part white.
Correct me if Im wrong but your saying in laymans terms that using ethnicities akin to race doesnt make sense? Because I absolutely agree with you your 100% correct.
Technically if youre not full blooded your technically a different race all together but dont think about race that hard. Race only makes sense as a concept if you look at it from a distance. Once you start looking at it with a magnifying glass it starts to get weird and fall apart.
@CocoasBro, I think we are thinking alike but in different ways. Yes, I’m saying race isn’t ethnicity, but I may be wrong but you’re using ethnic terms to describe race (which we do in America anyway), and that’s where I get confused. I think what I’m talking is what “race” is called now vs what they actually mean, and you’re talking about is pure origin. Ultimately they are the same thing. To give my bottom line thoughts, race is nothing more than a black/brown/white scale that’s a spectrum. I think labeling is weird because people who share half colors of skin will claim one dominance over the other. If that’s what you’re saying we are on the same page. But notice how you said if you mix races you’re a different race? That’s why I said race is a non sequitur. The further generations go, the more it dilutes (since ethnicities and races start blending). But it does start to fall apart as you dig deeper, fully agree.
@fallingback09, frankly Im confused now but i think we agree lmao.
