@WelI Obviously, if this is a person that's lived in the rural Japan or any other small Asian town. They had personal grills. I found this image that show the dimensions of the smaller personal grills. https://www.gtmall.com.au/assets/alt_2/HG2515.jpg I'm not saying that they all have them, I'm merely saying, this would be one reason why she had never used a toaster before.
