I must be too young for this. Or grew up too poor.
@Child Slapper, Why not both?
@Child Slapper, while I didn't grow up with it, I am told that while I was a smol child, my father drove trucks for them.
@Child Slapper, I always thought this was what poor people ate. It mostly delivered to broke people who couldn't drive to the store themselves.
@Child Slapper, I grew up poor and the Schwan's truck was like Christmas. they had ice cream sandwiches and push pops. as close to the ice cream man as you can get in the middle of nowhere.
Now that’s a throwback
@Sexy Homunculus, I always said it with a "v" instead of a "w" just for fun
@Sexy Homunculus, their little frozen deep dish pizzas were awesome, a fav of little kid me
@Sexy Homunculus, bruh! I still get Schwann’s! They come by twice a month with that frozen goodness.
They're still around
I remember when I was a kid and we were on the beach the ice cream man used to pull up and just walk onto the beach a lil bit and ring a bell to let everyone know he was there idk if they still do that but I hope they do
@bobbylupo, no that dude made enough to retire long ago.
I got ice cream from this truck exactly once in my childhood
I still dream about the frozen chicken Alfredo they sold. Man that was the best dinner of the month growing up.
Bruh the Belgian waffles were the best
I live in the suburbs of San Diego and just saw one of these trucks go by and was acting a fool about it. Hadn't seen one since I was a kid. My husband never had these come by his home and he only grew up an hour west of where I did. We might as well lived on two different planets.
I always saw these around but I assumed it was only a service for old people considering it only stopped at the houses of seniors where I lived
I don't see the trucks around anymore, but I still buy stuff for delivery from their site. Wish they still had Italian ice though
I loved Schwans, the turkey pot pies, beef tips, and stuffed shells meals were a big part of my childhood. Truck driver would give us kids a free cone too if we saw him driving around dropping off orders.
Haven't remembered these trucks in forever. Use to always see them heading home from elementary.
