@Mantis Tobaggan, Baseball's rules are such a clusterfvck that the ump can throw out whoever whenever. The odds are that they banned any pitch like that, probably by puting a max height for regulation pitches. Baseball isn't really a sport that is worth watching; It's like being a spectator at a DnD session.

@Emp4th, nope this is perfectly legal. To be a strike the ball just has to be in the strike zone while it crosses the plate. This is a gimmick used sometimes because it completely throws guys off and the ump almost has to call strike if it’s over the plate. Someone for the rangers did it this year. He had a called strikeout that looked just like this. You have to start your swing before the ball is out of the pitchers hand to hit a 90 mph fastball. So a 35 mph like this will throw your mechanics out of sync. If you know that ball is coming every major leaguer hits it over the fence. But the gimmick is you rotate throwing this and a real fastball and play mind games with the batter.

@Emp4th, essentially yes. I’ve only ever seen a position player do it during a blowout so it’s fun to watch cuz the game doesn’t matter anymore. I’m still waiting for a team to put relief pitchers in to hit since they rarely get to. Like cmon guys were down 12 and in last place by a mile. Let them have fun

@Emp4th, baseball is extremely interesting to watch if you know anything about the strategy involved. It is a thinking person's game. Good players consider the current game situation, the number of runners on base, the number of outs, among other things, to visualize what they will do before and after the ball is hit. Good fans are keeping that in mind for each player on the field. It can be very compelling.

@occasionalmutant, I know alot about the strategies too. However, if the presenter has time to tell the batter's entire life story before anything happens, it is not worth wasting my time watching it. Ever since I was a kid my dad has been trying to get me to like baseball. I just think that sport should be more than waiting in the middle of a field waiting for something to come your way.
Eephus pitch is the best
