The first YouTube rewind was actually pretty good. Then they turned it into woke virtue-signaling with people I personally didn't recognize. I'm glad they quit doing it.
@18bluecat, the first few really.. but yeah it went downhill fast..and hard ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Also because the "most popular president in history" gets massive dislikes, and MSM and virtue signaling political activists do as well, especially with covid news. They can't have you seeing that the majority of people disagree with their narrative, as their ideologies can only survive through censorship and deceit
@Kangaroo Jacked, *CNN would like to know your location*
@Empshok, just type "dislike" in the comments
@Guy Fawkes, *comments have been disabled by the creator*
@Empshok, *viewers have been disabled by YouTube*
@Empshok, *counters with Express VPN*
@Kangaroo Jacked, I'm fairly certain this is for corporations, when they make stupid moves the dislikes are astronomical and there are a lot of people who make videos about how disliked the video is. Still dumb but I don't believe it's government censorship.
@Mantis Tobaggan, Oh right, because people having an opinion, and it being mainly political, or major country news doesn't mean anything.
It's just because of "corporations" which by itself makes no sense anyway.
Don't worry, not being able voice your opinion isn't censorship, it's a feature.
@thatoneguymaybe, did I say it didn't mean anything? I was just saying not everything is a conspiracy. It's also not really censorship because you can still dislike videos lol. You can't see how many dislikes it has anymore, which don't get me wrong, is really weird and dumb. I just don't think the government all of a sudden demanded YouTube take down dislikes as that makes no sense. But you guys love to make anything political and come up with conspiracy theories so whatever.
Corporations pay YouTube to put ads on their website, those corporations get massive amounts of dislikes, get mad, YouTube removes public dislikes. How does that not make sense? Makes a lot more sense than the government doing it, people have been talking sh!t on the government forever and will continue to do so.
@Mantis Tobaggan, I suppose you may not see all of the surrounding things going on, which means this is just another topping on the cake.
But it's not per se the government demanding it. But all of the major corporations are unified in their views, and push for the same thing. They don't like it when their narrative is countered, or made to look bad (like with dislikes).
I don't think you know what censoring means, or we wouldn't be having this conversation.
This is textbook censorship.
It goes far beyond corporation ad videos. I mean the white house channel gets massive dislike ratios and barely any views to boot. They have to turn it off, or hide them to help with the damage. I mean ratio'd videos don't get views, for a reason. They have to fight their own algorithm.
@thatoneguymaybe, ok so it is the corporations? Make up your mind. Anyway.
They aren't stopping you from giving feedback or comments, but most jobs don't let people see the complaints that are filed against them if you ask, is that censorship? We can go ahead and call it censorship I can concede that point, but the government doesn't own YouTube so it's not government censorship. YouTube, Twitter, etc can remove any features, posts, videos, or whatever they like. Like I said I'm not sure it really counts as censorship since you can still dislike the videos and comment. Some people just like to be upset, and that's fine if that's how you'd like to live your life.
@thatoneguymaybe, also, I really don't think the government cares about YouTube likes, as I said people have hated them forever and have said so. Their approval ratings rarely come back positively, of they were to change anything it would be that, not YouTube
@Mantis Tobaggan, You may need to re-read. I never said it was government censorship.
I also didn't contradict myself. You mentioned corporation ads, I was talking about corporations being the ones to engage in the censoring on behalf of a narrative.
They do stop of from doing that, sometimes on just certain content, sometimes your entire account..
Actually legally YT, Twitter, etc. Cannot do that, or else they are publishers, but they demand to be platforms, so they lose that right, unless the content violates the law.
This is why it's a major problem, they want their cake, and they want to eat it as well.
You cannot dislike and comment on many, that is what we are talking about. I'm just assuming you are not reading.
We are upset at a system attacking us, and bringing us down. You can choose to ignore it, but some of us want to live free, and enjoy our lives without people interfering.
I once again will point out, you missed the point entirely. But please, continue.
@Kangaroo Jacked, shhh you’re not supposed to say the quiet part out loud!
@thatoneguymaybe, you've been able to disable comments on videos for years? I believe the dislike thing is universal and new, unless you can show me an example of it, but I'm pretty sure creators can't disable dislikes.
Unless it is a government entity, even as a platform, they can remove whatever content they want if it breaches terms of service or is otherwise deemed inappropriate. Im pretty sure I get your point, it's just a weak and inaccurate point.
@Mantis Tobaggan, all I'm saying is, y'all are drama queens
@Mantis Tobaggan, Yes, but they will disable them after it gets really bad, on specific topics.
They deliberately cover up public opinion. They will take away comments, or adjust dislike and like numbers. I mean actually edit them.
Actually, as a platform under section 230, thats not true. We have free speech here, and places like Twitter have become the new townsquare.
You don't get my point, and have misrepresentated, or at the least misunderstood myself, and others on this thread.
You jumped to conclusions, created strawman, and framed us in your mind, and will only look at us with that frame.
I'm afraid it's pointless to continue this game.
@thatoneguymaybe, alright lol. I made no strawman I just countered some of your points and called you drama queens. Fvcking snowflakes, so fragile.
@Mantis Tobaggan, hey. There’s a difference between ‘corporations’ and Big Tech, which is controlled by the government.
You may have missed a few events my guy. Especially when you sound just like a government fuсkboy right now.
Do you get your information from a university professor by any chance? Or maybe just watch too much Hollywood media designed to scapegoat corporations.
Anyways, I’m sure you won’t do it because you’re obviously afraid of the truth, but if you want your eyes to be opened and see the world for how it truly is, check out Louder with Crowder. He’s funny and entertaining, so even if you disagree, it won’t be a waste of your time. He thinks Fox News are prudes and tactless and has his own secret team that does research for him. It’s great!
@Child Slapper, nah no professor lol, I'm not afraid of any truth I'm just not paranoid. It seems like a greed move to me, nothing more.
Louder with Crowder sounds awesome so I'll have to give that a shot, I agree that fox News is a jizz stain on the world.
@Child Slapper, to clarify about some other stuff:
I'm not a government fvckboy, I think our government needs torn down and rebuilt basically. Our government and both sides are full of sh!t. I just think of it like this, they haven't given a single sh!t what the people think in decades. So i dont think they care about "censoring" dislikes enough to force YouTube to remove them or whatever.
Fox News isn't the only jizz stain, CNN, NBC, or any 24 hour "news" channel is in the same boat. They are fake outrage podcasts at best and can't be taken seriously.
@Child Slapper, last one lol.
I've read a lot of funny little conspiracy theories on this app, most of them don't hold water. Though this one is more plausible than most, I don't buy it.
You, however, did this right. You shared your thoughts and gave some sort of source to back it up rather than going: " waaaaaah! This guy has a different viewpoint I'm upset!" And I appreciate that.
@Mantis Tobaggan, I’m sorry I called you a fuсkboy. You didn’t deserve that. I was clearly projecting. I’m the fuсkboy. And are clearly a gentlemen. Have a fine day.
@Child Slapper, hey man no prob. I like how reasonable you are.
Someone just comment “dislike” and the rest of us can upvote it
@Nurse Joy, *like*
They're just trying to make it seem like the "actual" popular opinion is minority. Because we can't have the most popular president in history getting the most downvotes out of anything on YouTube. It doesn't fit the narrative they're trying to push.
Oh no, how can we air our displeasure at Nintendo now for their substandard online service...
If they thought a dislike was bad, the comments are about to be a lot worse.
@FaceGhost, The uploaders will just trun off comments.
@Gamasennin, then I just won't watch their video. That'll teach them
