Once again, yet another idiot fails to take into consideration:
A) the level of oil will rise when the turkey is added and
B) the turkey has to be fully thawed and thoroughly dried, because water (or ice) plus hot oil equals spattering.
Why do Americans fry the chicken? That's just gross and I'm Scottish, we fry everything
@NerdyGirl69, technically that's a turkey. If youre asking or commenting that "fried chicken" is gross, then you are obviously racist and abuse children.
@fitizen, I mean like, why do they dunk the whole turkey like that? Why not just oven cook it
@NerdyGirl69, gets dry in the oven unless you brine it. Frying is just easier.
@Runnin with scissors, interesting, didn't know that
@NerdyGirl69, it's like chicken but bigger so takes longer to cook and can be difficult to seal in any of the fats to the meat. Personally having a full turkey once a year is enough and I fvcking love meat.
@Runnin with scissors, I don't usually cook turkey for Christmas, I just do a chicken and a few other meats. This seem excessive lol
@NerdyGirl69, i can assure you this isn’t something that the average American does. It’s a select few but there’s a lot of videos of it because it’s dangerous and people want to record setting their own houses in fire.
@Turanga Leela, Tbf I don't really understand the concept of thanksgiving considering the history
@NerdyGirl69, you’re on the right track. The first thanksgiving happened when the natives took pity on the colonists who were cold and starving because they didn’t know how to handle the weather. The rest of the history is dark and horrible. There are actually Americans who refuse to celebrate thanksgiving for this reason. For others it’s just a tradition that brings family together and it’s not about the history etc. We give thanks for what we have and express gratefulness to those we love. And then there’s the jerks who immediately turn around and punch people in the face at a Black Friday sale to get a product with 5% discount.
@NerdyGirl69, ya we dont celebrate the history of it all. The only "traditional" thing we do is eat turkey. It's just an excuse to be with family. We drink a lot with people we havent seen in years and enjoy a lot of food. I hadn't seen my nephew in over a year and watching that little fvcker run around was awesome. To me at least history I wasnt a part of isnt something worth celebrating regardless of the good or bad.
That’s not Rick
“My buddy Keith once tried to deep fry a turkey. Third degree burns on ninety percent of his body!”
A for effort, D+ for execution
