@That one lurker, does no one remember than the Nazis were actually against vaccines because doctors tend to be Jewish and there was propaganda about them poisoning people through vaccines? Just me remembering this? Hitler went on a whole spiel about it. There were propaganda posters that literally said don't vaccinate.

@LyricTerror, i think the key is that hitler used it to divide people. Ploys and lies could be used in either direction. Ie. It could be said that its more hitler like to manipulate studies that go out to the public, ban opposing opinions from media sites by crediable sources (doctors from Harvard for example), and (as a government agency) convience one group of people that the other group is evil. Im pro vaccine, but as a young healthy, skinny dude that already has natural immunity from before the vax was available. Theres no statiscal or logical reason for me to get it, so im not going to. Its not hitler like to want to be left alone.

@Sharts Galore , virology teaches you that viruses don't care how young and healthy you are. If they want to harm and even kill you... they'll find a way. I was a very health 20yo who exercised daily and ate very healthy working at a fine dining restaurant with quality sourced veggies, fruits, meats, etc. Then I got the flu virus and almost died. I was never sick otherwise. This is why the measles vaccine is very important, as that virus erases your immune system's entire memory of every bacteria and virus it's protected you against in the past, leaving you as vulnerable as a newborn. Then it just keeps attacking you. Viruses can also hide in other immune systems in your body, such as your eyes, and then just when you think your body has fought it off, it comes out of the woodwork again for another battle. Tl;Dr: life, uh, finds a way. As for Hitler and his anti-vax ways, the propaganda and his quotes are out there to read if you have the time. It's pretty interesting.

@Sharts Galore , what's also funny is before I became obsessed with learning everything about virology and vaccine development 15 years ago, I was a serious anti-vaxxer myself, and became obsessed with learning all of it to prove they were harmful. It lead to me learning how everything actually works, meeting vaccine developers personally who tell me how they do their job, other scientists, medical professionals, and becoming a staunch vaccine supporter. So when I'm always told to "do my research" I have to chuckle... because I did! They're just mad because my research resulted in not agreeing with their beliefs.

I do have Jewish family myself, whom have had their family killed in Aushwitz, and they're all pretty sick of the whole "Everyone who disagrees with me is a NAZI" shtick. They've had it done to them, too. They're also sick of the crazy anti-vaxxers comparing themselves to holocaust victims. Everyone needs to take a friggin' chill pill and reality check.

@Sharts Galore , I support the Jacobson v Massachusetts ruling of mandates being approved on a state by state basis and not controlled federally. You're free to not follow mandates and you're free to not vaccinate, but you can't complain about the consequences of your choices. Real life doesn't cater to your views and beliefs and it's the local government's job to ensure everyone is safe, not just certain individuals. I support this for all vaccines. As for omicron, this may be the variant we've been hoping for. More contagious, but much less severe than the original virus that showed up two years ago. We could have a Christmas miracle on our hands! Let's hope. 😊

@LyricTerror, i totally agree. The scary part for me is how authoritarian the federal government is becoming. They need to do more research on matural immunity. They need to be more transparent and consistent with the science and with regulations. If omicron ends up whiping out alpha and delta, and is less deadly than the flu then we dont need vaccine mandates or passports. Or we should have vaccine mandates and passports for the flu too.

@Sharts Galore , it's 2021 we shouldn't be having any deaths for covid AND flu, but sadly we lose many to both. Vaccines for flu would work more efficiently if people would actually get them. Vaccines slow mutations. I agree with flu vaccine mandates. The biggest misinformation is that people get sick from the flu from the vaccine but that's literally impossible as the vaccines do not use the whole virus. It uses an attenuated piece of the virus that just enough to teach your immune system to fight it. That's like saying you read this reply on a piece of your broken phone. The sniffles and slight sore throat you get means it worked.

Goebbels ran a propaganda campaign to deep for normal comprehension. Where truth and lies was one or neather depended upon what the party said. To make clear, he had nearly 20yrs to force this onto children. So it is understandable how propaganda like that came about. Since they also spread lies about Jews being covered in fleas infected by typhus. So understand, the Nazi party are the last people you'd speak to to understand what the Nazi party is about. Even so, I tried looking up here claim and the only news outlets I really came across talking about this was the Jacobin. Was that where you got this info?

The first section alone, before the " in all seriousness" is Hitler talked about a mass contraception campaign made by a doctor he was reading. Where Hitler then joked about getting Jews involved cause they've "a good sense of commerce." Then after the quote that you presented, he starts talking about how to control the populace by keeping to uneducated, by using soft education. "But there is no need to teach them much more than, say, the meaning of the various road-signs. Instruction in geography can be restricted to one single sentence : The Capital of the Reich is Berlin, a city which everyone should try to visit once in his lifetime." To be against vaccines because of who's giving them, while still supporting the "real" vaccines for you is anti-vax nonsense that can still be found said in their circle jerk groups today. Antisemitism is found there in droves, as well. He was an anti-vax nut job and I'll continue to call him one. It's not as if I came up with it on my own, as many agree with it. He even waved away mandates for Germans to get a vaccine for smallpox during an outbreak at the time. You know the name of the book. it's easy to find a free way to read it yourself. as I said, it's not my problem you can't figure out how to get it to work.
