Good for you! Unfortunately, your peers still pay hundreds of dollars on those forms of monetization, encouraging developers to further implement them.
@member berry, south park got it right as well. It’s not each gamer paying $10 it’s like 1% of the fan base paying $1000 each
@TheBigJ, yeah I member
Warframe: "Here's a metric shjt ton of content for free."
@SimonPetrikov, hell, you can even get the paid for in game currency by trading with other players, if you don't want to spend any money on it
@SimonPetrikov, I promise. Everyone and their dog has purchased pay to fast at some point don't pretend.
@Diskum, Oh yeah, I did too. After 30+ hours of playtime I thoroughly enjoyed.
But that game would cost $1200 and probably have more bugs than cyberpunk
@Poisonwolf, take a look at Deep Rock Galactic. $20 - $40 game on steam (can't remember exact price because I forget how much the sale was). Still being updated, free battle pass with good rewards with no premium version. Just had the Christmas event where you could do some missions for cosmetics, plus they gave you the cosmetics from the last one for free if you didn't have them yet. They're currently working on figuring out how to make the rewards available for this season pass when it ends to players who join later
@BrenadryI, They have DLC though
@thatoneguymaybe, Its all entirely cosmetic, and is a skin for every class and every weapon. Plus, there are FAR more customization options given for free via battle pass, quests, and unlockables
@BrenadryI, Right, but not everything is included, and that was the point.
I prefer single player competition bores me
@eleven, Or are you not good at multi-player games? You can tell us, we won't judge... Probably.
@thatoneguymaybe, multiplayer just doesn’t hold my interest. For the few games I have played I would say that I range from ok to decent but they’ve never held my interest long enough to want to be particularly good at said games. I like games with a plot and story something I can sink my teeth into. It’s really the lack of any true story that holds my interest back because I generally feel the same way about post-games once I’ve beaten the last bit of post-game story I’m done. Enjoy your competitive multiplayer as I cannot.
@eleven, I agree about why you like single-player games, I'm the same way in that aspect.
Fortnite: $20 for Save The World and you can EARN as many cosmetics as you want
Sounds like a pay to win .
Idk. I hear it went to shjt, but Heroes of the Storm did good imo. Everything in the game could be unlocked over time (reasonably). But you had to pay for skins and could pay to unlock stuff.
@ThePandaPool , I think planetside 2 did this really well too. You could also pay to purchase player-made skins which I think made the player base some money too.
@theduuuude, I never heard about that with player made skins. That's even better.
