I actually don't agree with giving kids homework. Unless they don't finish something they should have done at school, just let them wind down at night.
@NerdyGirl69, I always saw homework as a way to reinforce a lesson that's been taught. In which case, I would say anyone who fails a test on a lesson, should then get some homework in it, to help them learn it.
@TheMediocreHulk, exactly! If they can't teach the kids in 40 hours a week, maybe they're trying to teach them too much. But hey I'd also split kids by ability not by age. Coming from someone who did so crap in school because I was bored out of my mind, hit uni and got distinctions lol
@NerdyGirl69, I’d make it dependent on your test scores. If you got an A idgaf if you do homework. You already got this. If you got a C then yeah you need to practice more. If you got a D then give it to the teacher for better grades
@BigJohnson86, if separate kids by ability tbh and not by age. That way everyone is operating at the same level. No wonder teachers struggle when you've got such a broad range in one class
@NerdyGirl69, I probably would’ve got beat up a lot more tho. I had a mouth as a kid and they made me skip kindergarten cuz I kept biting people. But I could read at a 4th grade level so they said fvck it and hoped making me the smallest kid in class would slow me down. Results were mixed
@NerdyGirl69, there has never been a more vicious creature to walk this earth than a 13 year old. They can emotionally traumatize you in ways no one can truly comprehend
