See, I think Bards have a ton of potential. My current dwarf bard uses animate object and can make heckin 10 creatures, all of which have 1d4 + 4 damage to their +8 attack rolls. Plus, if you chose the Valor college, you basically have the hunting horn from Monster Hunter.

This is how I feel on my groups latest campaign I'll inspire courage and heal but I'm basically useless in combat aside from that

@Joseph The Broseph, bards have always had it tough. I think pathfinder 2e made them better then pf1 or 3.5. But 5e, they're super boring unless you make an effort. Played a really old dwarf, his bardic "inspiration" was yelling at the "whippersnappers" to give them "advice". His only attack was vicious mockery. Super basic game, but every one was having fun.

@That one lurker, for sure I knew I was gonna be a background character this campaign and I definitely fill a need in the party I just feel bad when everyone is getting womped and I'm just running away like "You may die but your story will live on"

@Joseph The Broseph, Bards are amazing and fun. They get such a bad rap. One they don't have to suduce everything and their mothers. Even with the basic 5e atlest archetypes they are flavored nicely. Armoured bad with sword and shield CCing and tanking is fun. Getting access to other spell lists and just being a caster is nice but you can do it all

Obviously someone isn't a college of lore bard, didn't take a level into life domain cleric, and didn't use additional magic secrets to learn Healing Spirit smh
