Well have you tried not being poor?
@BigJohnson86, poor people dont exist. Its just a conspiracy pushed by Alex Jones, and we all know hes never right about anything ;)
@BigJohnson86, hey! poor people are just as bright as white kids
I’d like one, can’t afford the car payment, plus my landlord needs to update the electrical before I could do something like that. Credit is poop due to poor life choices. Being young and dumb is overrated and I wish I realized that a heck of a lot sooner.
@Dalekpenis6927, think of it as this is the timeline that this happens.
@Dalekpenis6927, it gets better, just keep pushing through every day
@Dalekpenis6927, check out Dave Ramsey. The sooner you realize credit doesn’t matter the better! You won’t regret it!
That doesn't change the cost of goods going up due to increased shipping costs
Anyone else hear what that idiot, Steven Colberts, response was to gas prices? That idiot says “I’m ok paying a buck or two more a gallon to have a clear conscience. HELL, I’ll pay $15 a gallon, because I own a Tesla” Hmmmmm, if it goes to $15 a gallon, will he actually pay it, you know, since he’s not even using it in his electric car? Typical “elitist” Make a bad situation worst and act like they’ll suffer with rest of us when in fact, they won’t suffer at all. Not to mention this brain trust couldn’t figure out that every thing we buy is directly priced by transportation cost or made possible by petrochemicals.
@Unitard, you do realize he hosts a comedy show and that was a joke about people being detached from reality and elitist, right? That's like his whole thing.
@Unitard, I mean yeah but… I’m with @littlechuckie on this one. Dudes literally a comedian. True, one I don’t follow anymore but it’s seeming like you missed the punchline pretty hard.
@Canis Arktos, I’m not so sure, it was kind of hard to tell if it was a joke. If it was a joke, it was about as funny as a bad flare of hemorrhoids on a road trip through western Kansas by yourself with no functioning car audio, broken charging cable and a dead phone.
@Hot Coffee, we can discuss this more OR I can ask you… would hemroids be better if other people were in the car!??!?
@Unitard, Nah, that wasn't a joke. Jokes are funny. It's just the same virtue signaling BS you always see from late night hosts.
"Oh look at me! I'm so good and responsible cause I drive an electric car! See how good I am?"
Late night comedy isn't even comedy right now. It's basically just activists preaching at the audience about what they're supposed to think about any given situation and getting more applause for their opinions instead of for the jokes. It's called "clapter".
@Littlechuckie, 120% agree, this was a joke and a hard one to swallow. I think that's why people are so up in arms over it.
Colberts show has a hard time not looking like state propaganda.
So for him to deliver this, it stings.
@That one lurker, I seem to recall Colbert calling Trump's mouth one of Putin's Cock Holsters. With time it seems that it was Bidens mouth. Talk show hosts are nothing more than political pundits nowadays as everything becomes political.
@Littlechuckie, it might have been different if it were a joke. Sad thing is, you can’t tell anymore.
@Canis Arktos, they might be able to distract you from the pain
What do you mean electrical grid still uses fossil fuels?
“Should’a had a V8.”
I ordered a model y in September and am still waiting for it:(. You can’t just buy one even if you had the money
You don’t have to buy a Tesla to buy an electric car or at least a hybrid. I fill up half as often as y’all
@heybruh, It's still far cheaper to buy a used gas vehicle than even a used Prius. Not to mention when the hybrid battery finally dies, the car is essentially totalled.
There are currently NO electric vehicles as efficient or useful as the Tesla right now. The cheapest one in the market right now, the Nissan Leaf, is a joke because it's a Nissan and will be dust in five years.
Even if it was affordable, the average American can't survive a $500 emergency. Like, 60% can't. That's statistics. And you think people can just shell out for the down payment on a car in a moment's notice? COVID and inflation has DECIMATED our savings.
@LookOutASni, all I know is I got a great deal on my used Hyundai hybrid in 2016, so it’s possible
@heybruh, Well good for you, but the statistics bear out that you are the exception, not the rule.
I approve this message
Can't get a Tesla if you don't have a garage to charge it in...
You can't put dollar store batteries in your broke ass tesla in a few years time.
I mean in the long run it would probably be cheaper at this rate
@ZeroG1422, is it though? I drive a lot but even still I pay less than $300 a month in gas. A Tesla starts at about 600 a month and you do still have to pay for electricity
@ZeroG1422, a tesla is like $40k-60k. You can drive a fully loaded crossover and still have $25k left for gas.
@BigJohnson86, I pay $400 a month for a Model 3 Extended Rage and there's been no appreciable increase in my eletric bill. Plus no extra expenses like oil changes, engine servicing, transmission checks, etc. The only money I've spent was $150 to get a circuit breaker replaced and $12 for a charger wall mount.
@BigJohnson86, as a Tesla owner I can verify that charging cost roughly a dollar a day. Electricity cost is negligible. I think the statement is far more viable for those who are already making car payments. Trade in for a Tesla and the price difference isn't nearly as rough as you'd think. And yes I know not very many people who are that worried about gas prices bankrupting them don't have the credit to get a good enough deal for it to be worth. Also location is important. Places like CA where gas prices were already insane its totally worth
@DamienD, how much did you put down? That’s a 40k+ car. Over a 5 year loan with 0% interest that’s $666 a month. To get to 400 a month you’d have to put at least 15k down and get 0% interest. That’s something most people can’t do
@BigJohnson86, $8k trade-in which is pretty much their standard rate for a car that runs and no major damage.
@DamienD, this guy works for tesla.
@Cuactemoc4919, and you work for big oil.
@The Silly Band, No way am I gonna get ANYTHING trading in my 2003 Mitsubishi for an electric vehicle.
The average age of an American's car is 12 years old. That ain't sh*t in trade-in value.
