For a sec I was like "Jesus didn't have piercings" and then it dawned on me. 0_o
@AlyciaFear, dawned on you like a “morningstar” didn’t it?
@AlyciaFear, Not voluntarily really
As a member of the church behind this college, I can say that this is strictly a college campus rule. Can’t tell you why, never been, but many members have beards now, and sleeveless/form fitted clothing is regularly worn during sporting activities. Please don’t let this be your only interaction
@nightweaver, one reason I’m an incredibly active member that dislikes BYU.
@nightweaver, that's not nearly as fun though
@nightweaver, This is still to much interaction with the fing Mormon church for my taste. Out of all 45k+ denominations of Christianity there are two that stand out, to me personally in my humble opinion, that are the absolute worst and gets me all rummled in my Jimmy's mearly being reminded they exist.
1) Jehovas Witness
2) Fing Mormons
Jesus I haven’t seen someone get murdered like that since 33 ad
Them: "clothing with little coverage is forbidden"
Students: "but wasn't it perfectly fine for Adam and eve to be naked until they ate the fruit, realized that they were exposed and covered themselves, which was considered "bad"?
(correct me if my understanding of that part of the bible is wrong)
@BrenadryI, Nope. It's 100% correct. The first thing they did upon eating the fruit is to realize they were naked, being ashamed and covering up. It's what clued the Bible God that they ate the fruit.
So technically clothes are a representation of the first sin 🤣
And this is how you end up with a campus full of kids "soaking"
@The real meowman, Ha! Love it have a thumbs up
This only applies to people at the university. It is not a church-wide policy. And people are not obligated to go there. Being a former BYU student and someone with a nice big beard now, I can honestly say that while you’re attending school there, not many people actually complain since they agree to the dress code before they are accepted.
But if you think this is bad, wait til you see what they make women wear in Iraq… 😅
@sexy man boobs, Ah yes the ol deflect tactic.
What we are doing is crap so let's distract you with this other, totally unrelated group, that is also crap so you stop looking at our behavior. How very predictable.
For the record? Most Islamic women also agree to the dress code. And is why even in non Islamic countries do they conform.... Its almost like people will do anything so long as their religion asks them to do it. Regardless of the religion or country lol
I looked it up, this is true. I thought maybe it was satire but nope, “beards are not acceptable” wow
@JoeNES, Well if the Mormons are know for one thing... Its being ironically hypocritical
Piercings?!……….Oh, I see what you did there. You glorious cheeky bastard!
It’s more of a relic from the days they were trying to keep dirty communist hippies out of the school.
More proof that religion is used by the power hungry to feed that need or by the self-righteous to think they are better than others.
this is next level of archaic dictatorial bible belt brainwashing biblethumper clone BS, right here
So Jesus can have long hair and a beard but I can't?🤔
I enjoyed the irony at first, however, it lost the sense of the Ironic for me because I realized that isn't the logo for BYU. The "guy" on the BYU logo would be a Cougar
I'm glad I'm a Christian and not this....
@Zergmare , For once I agree with you. If your gunna be a Christian? At least don't be a fing Mormon or Jehovas Witness.
This is why we ask "WWJD", not "WWJW"
Bouncer at your typical sketchy nightclub:
"Hey Hitler, nice boots! Come on in!
F*ck off Jesus! No sandals!"
