I feel like this was made by someone who doesn’t know that American parents often let their kids live with them well into their 20s.
@A Deformed Penis, usually at least through college
@A Deformed Penis, maybe this was true in the 50’s, but are you kidding nowadays?? Everyone I know has some 29 year old in their basement. Dumb meme, sorry
@A Deformed Penis, yeah, with how freaking insanely expensive houses and apartment rents are increasing nowadays, everyone smart I know who isn’t made of money stays with their parents until they buy a house with their significant other to share expenses. Which usually happens around late 20’s or in the 30’s. However, i live near an urban area, not a rural area.. so maybe that’s bias?
@A Deformed Penis, probably some eurotrash who only gets pleasure from deucing on a country they've never visited
Go off into the 1st world land of freedom and privilege, and then start bitching about your lack of freedom and privilege because mommy and daddy had a car and a house so 'I am part of the struggle' because I don't have a whole house to my name. Fvck I'm tired of those people and their online posts about what the world should give them, poverty means you go to bed hungry without hopes of escaping that lifestyle, it does not refer to a couch potato
@Factory BOY, I’m sure some people exaggerate how bad it is but that doesn’t mean things are good. Rent is so much money at this point that unless you have a really good job out of school (which almost no one can) you will have to split it with 2 or 3 other people. Houses are even harder to get seeing as they’re over a million dollars for a modest sized house.
Just because other people have it worse doesn’t mean people are unjustified for asking for the same chance their parents had. Especially when all you hear from the is how entitled they are, and how easy they have it when they really don’t.
@Duncan5769, and to assume everyone making these claims are just couch potatoes, is actually insulting as someone who works 55 hours on 2 different jobs, while Stll trying to maintain a social life.
@Factory BOY, "Just get a house bro"
@Duncan5769, I agree there are poor Americans. If you are complaining about having to sub-divide an apartment fresh out of school, then you haven't grasped the reality of poverty, though. The CBD where I live in Pretoria has buidings on buildings of families and people sharing apartments - 22 people to one bathroom, and we still consider them middle class. You are in a wealthy country, so you compare yourself with Americans. Consider that the legal minimum wage in South Africa, my country, is R24 an hour. What has your 55 hours earned you? There are masses of people working for less than that, because we don't respect minimum wage like that in a country with mass unemployment
@Factory BOY, As Eye said (my eye button is broken, relying on auto correct) just because Other people are worse off doesn’t un validate what I’m saying. It’s not that we have to split rent that’s the problem. It’s being told We are lazy and entitled despite it being much harder financially. The amount of times I’ve heard how someone saved all their money from their part time job to get a house and asks why eye don’t just do that is ludicrous
@Duncan5769, I am not trying to un-validate your struggle, I simply don't live in a society where a part time job has payed off for someone like that, not ever. People having more luxury than you doesn't un-validate the wealth that you have, either.
@Factory BOY, I think you two are talking about two different things. You seem to be talking more about the actual financial struggle of other countries in comparison, while he's talking more about the social judgment that comes from not being successful right out the door, even though it's a ridiculous expectation to have in the current era
@Factory BOY, eye don’t expect a part time job to do that, eye just don’t want to eat mr noodles everyday. Again this isn’t so much about wanting more. It’s more about the hypocrisy from older generations
@Lazy Wolf, eye read this after. Yes that’s seems to sum up the conversation
@Factory BOY, dude have you seen the housing market right now or are you a child? I make 6 figures and I can't afford anything in my area
@Factory BOY, allow me to interrupt in the middle of your idiotic tirade.
My entire childhood I was told “ get a government job. Try to make something like 70k a year at least and live your life happy”.
I did exactly that and for the the cheapest house in my neighborhood (bout 500k) I was quoted about 300 Dollars a month MORE than my take home.
See yourself out you clown.
Should’ve made THAT movie.
Mine did not wait that long
