@mikegigs, nobody compared Heath to someone else's joker though. Nobody (recently) played the part of the joker so nobody truly knew what to expect of him. Christian Bale however, left some pretty big shoes to fill as Batman so everybody is comparing Ben to Christian. Plus Ben has played the role of Daredevil before and he was far from intimidating as a masked superhero even if the movie as a whole wasn't that great.

I say give him a chance like we gave Heath ledger a chance. I mean I even hated hearing the joker was gonna be Heath then I saw the movie and was like :O
