@my name is jonas, I actually saw a quote from her about the reason why she doesn't. She said that she only smiles when she is actually happy. At events, everyone always tells her to and tries to force her to smile and she doesn't as a sort of silent protest. The quote really changed the way I look at her.

@my name is jonas, as for her acting in the movies that way, that was apparently true to the girl's character. So that was the way it was meant to be acted.

@Jedi Reynolds, I know a few characters with similar traits and qualities. The actors who portrayed them actually portrayed them. Kristen Stewart didn't try, they just found a girl who matched the description.

@Brach Obama, no, I understand, and I do find that offensive, but my sole point is that people hold not smiling against her. I still hold the rape comment against her, but not the smile thing. The rape thing is worse though...

@Green collared, that's still acting... Ever see "Into the wild" or "Snow White and the Huntsman"? Also, she's an actress. They do portray other emotions than smiling... You know... Unless it's a horrible Scifi only shown on Syfy...

@Jedi Reynolds, Apparently not. Offscreen, the no-smiling, honest emotions thing is just fine. But on screen, it means that they aren't doing justice to the art of acting, and are merely being selfish. Or lazy.

@Green collared, I hit enter way too early. My point was that she does smile in her movies. I'm fine with humor, but not when it's used to beat on other people.

@Jedi Reynolds, Granted, but the relationship is dumbed down in the movie. And it's not just the smile - she doesn't convey any believable emotion. Also, I agree, but I am also enjoying this one. I know of few people who can argue without getting butthurt about it.

@SimonPetrikov, meh. People try and argue with me all the time, so it doesn't affect me very much. I will admit that I have not read the books, but my girlfriend has. She's the one who said that Bella in the book is as emotionally despondent as she is in the movie.
