2 major flaws in this comic: Mormons don't associate with the Christian cross even though they are Christian and Missionaries aren't allowed to have any facial hair or sun glasses.
@WelcomeToRapture, also, their uniform requires that Walter would need to have his shirt tucked in and no one over the age of 26 is allowed to go ;)
@Hotchkiz, people over 26 can go, there was an old couple in my ward who went on one together. It's a somewhat popular thing to do
@WelcomeToRapture, someone actually knows their stuff
@WelcomeToRapture, Walter doesn't care about your rules man.
@WelcomeToRapture, I am so happy there are other Mormons on this app and it is not just me:F
@WelcomeToRapture, Mormons aren't Christians their Mormons
@Yankee, yay, your comment failed both factually and grammatically. *confetti*
@Insert name there, lmao, that made me laugh pretty hard.. xD
@Yankee, I'm a Mormon and I'm pretty sure I know if I'm a Christian or not. The answer is Yes. Yes we are.
@WelcomeToRapture, also, Mormons don't sell meth and kill people
@BunifaLatifaJackson, Your doctrine is substantially different. Mormons only think they're Christians. The founders of your church said that all other churches (Christian churches) are of the devil. If you deny this, look it up. So the answer is no. No you're not.
@VaselineOnToast, The full name if the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It says it right there in our name, and all our doctrine revolves around Christ. Does this not make us Christain?
@McGeek, Good call. I meant the older missionaries almost never knock on doors though.
@WelcomeToRapture, Bring out the dancing lobsters!
@TheKen42, I know what the name is. If you were truly Christian, why do you need all this extra Joseph Smith stuff? The book of Mormon claims to be "another testament of Jesus Christ", which pisses me off because the Bible says that God's word should never be added to. Mormons reject the trinity as being a single deity, and you believe that you can obtain greater status based on your works. The Bible says that no man shall come to the Father but by Jesus, and not by works. I think Brigham Young stated something like "we are as God once was; so what God is, we can become" or something like that, which is not true because God has always been God, and we cannot ever be elevated to God status. Don't get me wrong, I have mormon friends, I just disagree with the religion.
@VaselineOnToast, I respect your beliefs and I'm sorry if anyone shows any sort of hate. I cannot tell you what you believe, but I can tell you what I know. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, he was called by God to restore the fullness of the gospel to the Earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is not here to replace the bible, it is meant to add to it and testify again of Christ. It tells the story of Christ after his resurrection and his visit to the Americas. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the most true church, I'm not saying that other churches are wrong, but the LDS church has the fullness of the gospel. I respect your opinions, but this is what I believe and know to be true.
@Sam L Jackson, Hey I respect your opinion too man, and thanks for keeping it civil. I just wanna say that the Bible warns against false prophets and says that the devil can appear as an angel of light. When you say the book of Mormon adds to the Bible, that's exactly why I have a problem with it. The LDS church alters the gospel. To my knowledge, Mormons believe there was a huge battle in North America between (forgive me if these are wrong) the Lamenites and Nephites, but there is absolutely no archaeological evidence to support this claim. Joseph Smith was a freemason and died in a gun battle, was kind of a nutcase, and was a polygamist, which doesn't seem like the behavior of "prophet of God".
@Sam L Jackson, Oh, and the book of Mormon mentions many things being present in North America that were never actually here prior to the arrival of Europeans, such as coins, glass, metal swords, wheels, chariots, wheat, grapes, barley, goats, horses, etc.
@VaselineOnToast, Our founder, Joseph Smith, never said anything about other religions being of the devil. The only church I know that actually is of the devil is Satanism. As Samuel L Jackson said, Any study of religion is good. Our church simply has the wholeness of the gospel. The Book of Mormon is mentioned in the bible as well. The stick of Joseph and the stick of Judah alludes to it. Gods words should never be added to, means men should not alter the words of God for their own interests. The Book of Mormon is Gods word, and i'm pretty sure God can add to his own words. We believe we can attain the status of deity, but absolutely not by our works alone, but only through the atonement of our Savior. Gods true name, translated into Hebrew, means "God of Gods." And we believe that we were spiritual beings before we became to earth, and we lived without bodies before we came to earth.
@VaselineOnToast, And someone will probably mention this by now, but Joseph was in a prison cell, wrongfully accused, when a mob broke into his cell, and shot and killed him and his brother. He was unarmed at the time. I've visited the cell, and seen the bullet holes in the door.
@VaselineOnToast, and about him being a polygamist...we there are many blessings that are only attainable through the temple and sealed marriage. Joseph smith didn't just marry women for lusts, he married them to give them those blessings. He was against polygamy and only did it because God commanded him so, and he knew that when God commands things of his servants they must do what he commands or punishment will follow.
@VaselineOnToast, and I also apologize, I accidentally clicked the dislike button, please forgive me haha
@VaselineOnToast, and the people that did down vote you were probably mormon or just disapprove of your opinion. Down voting because someone doesn't believe the same thing as you is not something Christ would do. And that's what our doctrine teaches, how to be like Christ. If some people don't follow that then that's a reflection on their character, not the church.
@VaselineOnToast, Well, then, I guess by your logic nobody is truly Christian but Catholics, I being one of them. We can, after all, trace the leadership of our Church to Jesus
@Sam L Jackson, It's all good man, and you are forgiven for the accidental downvote. As a Christian I believe we're all sinners, but we will be saved if we believe in Jesus and repent our sins and follow biblical teachings. I know a lot of mormons (I live in southern Alberta haha) and a lot of them are pretty cool people, and I'm very good friends with some of them. I try to avoid the debate around them because it's not worth losing friends over.
@Pyvin, He was not unarmed. He was in possession of a pistol that a fellow by the name of Cyrus smuggled in for him, and an account from John Taylor says that he shot three people, two of whom died. His brother Hyram had a deringer. This is from volume 7, pg. 101-103 of the documentary history of the Mormon church. There have been tour guides at the jail that admit there was a gun, but they won't say anything unless you specifically ask about it. It's all on youtube, "The Untold Story of the Death of Joseph Smith".
@WelcomeToRapture, also, it's isn't Mormons who knock, it's the Jahovahs Witnesses
@WelcomeToRapture, and Mormons don't go door to door. That's Jehovah's Witnesses
@Tromboner, Mormon Missionaries do go door to door around their assigned mission location.
@WelcomeToRapture, I bet you're fun at parties
@DecimusAuditore, absolutely :)
@WelcomeToRapture, Mormons aren't Christians, they don't believe that Jesus has paid the price for their sins.
@Stumps, yes actually we do!
@McGeek, we had older missionary's and the lady made the most orgasmic home made cresent rolls
@Stumps, I'm sorry but that is a camp legally false statement, I believe with every fiber in my being that Jesus the Christ payed for the sins everyone of us have commuted
@Stumps, totally false. Mormons believe Christ died for our sins. That's the whole premise of the church, the bible and the Book of Mormon.
@Hotchkiz, @McGeek, people over the age of 26 can go, but they have to go on a couples mission.
Haha read thin in church! (I'm LDS [Mormon])!
@ReverseCancer, I'm LDS too. =)
@ReverseCancer, it's awesome to see other Mormons here! And without hate
@Sam L Jackson, what up brodas'!!! Good to see my fellow brethren representin'!!
Who else is Mormon?
@candy pants, I am!!!!
@candy pants, me
Also back on topic, Walter dies.
@vasalineontoast: even if he had a gun, I think that a mob of multiple people could easily take them down. Just saying it logically... Also read when Jesus as baptized, and all the times god said "for this is mybeloved son". If they're the same person, why would Jesus say that about himself?
But why does he look like a bald Slash?
@CameronVanBuren, "You got me."
Yea, religion trick!
I'm going to be Walt for Halloween so I can say "I am the one who knocks." Also, when people ask who I am, I'll say, "You all know exactly who I am. Say my name."
@Morphman, you sir are a genius
...wickedness, so Lehi led his family out of Jerusalem and by the power of god was led through the wilderness and then god helped them build a boat. They traveled to America, Nephi's descendants were called the nephites. Nephi's brothers, Laman and Lemuel, were wicked and broke off, starting the lamanites. That's where those two groups of people came from, the bible.
Pretty sure they meant Jehovah's witness..
? shouldn't it Jehovas?
Jehovah's Witness comes up to the house. Stay out of my territory!
Would you like some of our new spicy guacomole? NO! I AM THE ONE WHO GUACS!
Is that suppose to be Jesse?
...they spoiled the series finale
I'm sure as hell excited for tonight.
@CameronVanBuren, now I look like an idiot becaus it sent twice
