What did you bring? Frankincense. I brought Myrrh. And you? GOLD? Ugh. You ALWAYS do this. I thought we had a set limit on how much we were going to spend...
@Funny Pics Janitor, Family Guy!
@Funny Pics Janitor, That sounds so familiar. Where did you copy that from?
@CynicalSir, it is from the Family Guy Xmas episode.
Actually, no one knows exactly when Christ was born. And, based off of historical evidence, the Three Wise men wouldn't have arrived to Bethlehem until about two years after he was born. Thus, the Three Wise men were merely honoring the presence of their Savior. Not giving Him joint Christmas and birthday presents.
@Bananafighter, do you want to start another crusade?!
@Bananafighter, perfect you just forgot the parts about the fact we know it was late summer when he was born and there was most likely more than three wise men due to the fact people graceless in large groups
@Bananafighter, I guess you can say they're "late to the party" (;
@lakewood20, I thumbed you up cuz I liked your lame joke.
@Long John Silver, haha thanks
@stigmaoftherose, I'm assuming we are all basing this info off the Bible which doesn't even say that there's three.thus making the amount unimportant
@Bananafighter, lol ya and also constantinople changed jesus's birthday from summer to the pagan winter solstice celebration day
@huggy bear, the templars are back! Call ezio!!!!!!
@Thestonedtaco, You mean Constantine? Cause Constantinople was a city.
@Bananafighter, actually we don't know how many wise men there are because in the Bible it just says wise men. Never did it say 3 the more you children read The Bible
@stigmaoftherose, most Christian holidays are based off of pagan holidays
@Bananafighter, his birthday supposedly took place in june or july and there is also a theory that there is a 4th wise man, idk how but theres something that tells that there are three wise men, i could be wrong since im not very religious but im pretty sure something says it.
@Bananafighter, I bet you're fun at parties
Jesus' birthday is thought to have been in the summer sometime. Also Christmas was not a holiday until long after Jesus had died. The celebration time was adopted from the pagan holiday Saturnalia, where Christians made a holiday in order to try to convert some of these pagans to Christianity.
@The Joke Killer, as most christian holidays are super imposed upon pagan holidays.
@The Joke Killer, Big Bang Theory?
@FreezeBlade, why bother commenting hi?
@FreezeBlade, hi, how are you?
@huggy bear, Why not? Hi, FreezeBlade!
I've actually heard that Jesus was born in the spring/summer time... my life is a lie!
@Storm Gale, You've heard? Sure it wasn't from reading the comments?
@Killer0Ape, yeah, I'm pretty sure unless an invisible man threatened to knock me out if I didn't read the other comments... heh... heh heh
@Storm Gale, yes his birthday supposedly took place in june or july and theres even a theory that there was a fourth wise man
I have a friend named Mary but we call her Murr. I sometimes pick her up, go to my friends and say, "WHERE IS THE NEW BORN KING? I HAVE GOLD, FRANKINCENSE, AND MURR!!"
Has having my birthday 2 days before Christmas I can relate 😔
I will give a pony to anyone who can tell me how I came about to be Santa. (The story of St . Nicholas) just wanted to see if you anyone knows the real story is all.
@St Nichoals, Which one,there's lore for you in a lot of different ancient cultures.
@ProfitlessProphet, Christian if you can
@St Nichoals, Celebrated Dec. 6th. He was most likey the bishop of Myra in the 300s.Born into money,he inherited it at an early age,but kept none of it. One story tells how he gave money to three sisters who were going to be forced into prostitution.Another version has the girls being beheaded and Nick bringing them back to life.Imprisoned when he rejected Diocletian and Maximian and later released by Constintine.Rejected Arian teaching and one story says he attacked Arius at the council of Nicea and was arrested until Jesus and Mary appeared at his side.But this is accepted as a only a story as they kept very good records at the council.Is this enough to show I know the origins or should I keep going?
