Probably shouldn't have majored in philosophy, either.
@DoctorThrob, Who knew that degree in medieval French literature would result in so few job offers?
Actually, it's only one piece of the puzzle. You gotta know how to sell, and by sell, I mean sell yourself. I know that many users of this app are in college or are going to college, and I urge you not to do what most people do. Do internships, do projects, do something that will show you will be an asset to a company. Don't chase the degree, chase the career. Learn how to speak well and be charming and hopefully you'll get the job you deserve :) sorry for the long post!
@Sh33dyiv, yeah my brother and sister both graduated from college recently and they both worked the whole time they were in college and now my sister (if she wasn't pregnant) would have a good job and my brother is in the police academy!
when I was a kid I thought college would be the best time of my life. Severe depression and no friends proved wrong.
Hmph. Me too. And now I'm delivering news papers.
When I was a kid I believed that if I studied hard enough that I could go to college. Then I found out I'm a middle class white kid.
@Bonersaurus, *looks at user name* HA!
@The Asian Guy, ;)
Here is a life lessons from the wise old janitor (insert appropriate movie reference here)... If you don't know what you want to do in life, don't go to college straight out of high school. While you will get an education, it more than likely will not have much to do if anything to do with your chosen field once you graduate. Instead, (and I know this is attractive or popular as it might have been in the past) join the military or local national guard. You will get some real life experiences and most of all learn self discipline, which in today's instant gratification society is nothing short of invaluable. Nearly every single person I have given this advice to has thanked me many times over. They were also able to put away some money so that when they did get out they could actually afford to move out on their own and forge their own identity. Just a thought...
@Funny Pics Janitor, *not as attractive...
@Funny Pics Janitor, get paid to travel the world. Get your room clothes and food and sll your expenses paid for so all money earned is spending money. You also get college from the GI bill, its a great path to choose
@Funny Pics Janitor, i chose marines
Would you like fries with that order?
Well, when I was a kid I thought being a teenager would be fun. That's why I call kids are stupid.
