@ramboman19, I'm honored guys! Thank you! It came from the heart!
Eating meat is the natural way to live and that's never going to change. But I still respect vegan opinions.
@Cocconut Head, I wouldn't expect you to respect the opinions of vegans, with your condition and all.
@Ereshkigal , are you kidding? this haircut gets me all the babes.
@Cocconut Head, that was you in the last picture wasn't it!
@Cocconut Head, Hey, you're not allowed to respect other lifestyles on Tumblr!
I don't understand vegans
I'm pretty sure animals aren't sentient. That's the reason that word exists in the first place.
I'm a butcher, AMA lol
Not sure I would be comfortable buying "British" cooked chicken
@Soundslikeothers, You never know... It could be duck. *Next line to be read in Bob Kelso's voice (I'm watching Scrubs)*. I was going to use the pun of "fowl" but I figured I'd bring up the horse meat issue again.
@GreatWhiteBrow, actually horse meat is known to be more lean and healthy and also more tender
@TheProlapsingAsshole, I'm guessing that you're unaware of the horse meat scandal in Britain. In case you are, some supermarkets were selling "beef" burgers which were actually made of primarily horse meat. That's why I made the joke of it being one meat and advertised as another.
I don't get why some people are against eating meat, you see animals hunt other animals for food all the time, it's natural, it's just the cycle of life, it just so happens that we can eat whatever we want since we're on top of the food chain. And this is coming from a vegetarian, but I do eat a few meats
Actually yeah, this is a pretty good idea.
What if they posted an exact photo of the animal that died alongside "the best before date" like right before they kill it they take a picture...
@Angel123321, even better. Makes you wanna choose the best looking animal. Old animal meat tastes nasty.
The kill date says 14/11/2011
@titty whiskers, that's how most countries write dates. Day/Month/Year.
@Shortround, cuz it says British chicken
I actually wouldn't give a fvck because I already know meat is dead animals, it's no cover up and most of them don't die being tortured.
@JaredDuck, I think it is completely natural to eat meat, but I just want to clear something up. Animals are, in fact, slaughtered brutally no matter what people might tell you. Whatever way costs less and preserves the best meat and that often means torture. I just had to clear that up. Carry on.
@Regina Falange, actually in most civilised countries this just isn't true. Demand for animal treatment means that they're kept in great conditions, and all the time you spend rearing an animal can be undone in seconds when it comes to slaughter, so slaughterhouses are very relaxed places, considering what they do. No torture.
@AButcher, On American farms there aren't many laws protecting the treatment of these animals. I'm not going to list what happens to them, but look it up for yourself.
@AButcher, Have you never heard of Tyson?
@Regina Falange, Why is this downvoted? This is totally true.
@Regina Falange, I'm in the UK, I don't know about America but there are rules about animals being "free range" etc
@AButcher, I only know that the US doesn't have those laws. If the UK does then good for them, US should take notes
@Regina Falange, fair does mate :) the pigs, chickens, sheep and cows I work on aren't mass produced so they are outside all the time etc.. Really good meat. Pic related I'd much rather know when an animal was killed, it'd make people see a lot about supermarkets and how they cheat
@Regina Falange, actually I can guarantee you that the videos you see are an act of PETA. The more stress you put on an animal the lower quality of meat you are going to get. Stress releases a hormone which toughens the meat and make it unsatisfactory to eat. I am not a butcher but I have experienced the process. All the animals were kept in very good climates and have a low stress to stress-free lifestyle. A single bullet to the head and the animal was killed instantly. There was no beating it, cutting it's throat and letting it bleed out and suffer. It was instant. Now I'm not saying everyone does this because there are people out there who do not care how the animal gets treated. But I ask that you not put a blanket statement on those that do their best to give the animals the greatest respect they can. If you have an issue of not knowing where your meat came from and how it was raised then find a local area. I go to a local farm where I see the process every time.
@BuggyBart, I'm really not a fan of PETA I think they are complete hypocrites and hurt the cause more than they help it, and I agree with you. I don't mean to put a blanket statement over all farms, but a lot of big factory farms in the US do not treat the animals humanely. And like I said, in my opinion it is natural to eat meat but not natural to treat them the way a lot of people do. As for the statement about how the stress makes the meat not as good that might be true but a lot of people simply don't care. The fact is that there is a lot of proof to back up statements about farms being inhumane. But at the same time there are farms that do not fall under that category like the local farms you talk about. I just don't like when people are naive to the fact that these things do happen in even civilized countrys like the US. You all make valid points though so thank you for keeping the balance.
@Regina Falange, PETA is the definition of hypocrite. The money donated to them is used to pay people to get "undercover" footage of animals being treated poorly. People are slowly starting to realize this which is good, but PETA has hooked up with HSUS (humane society of the United States). Now don't be mistaken with thinking they are the same as USHS (United States Humane Society). USHS is a wonderful organization that strives to provide optimal care for all animals. HSUS is an organization that strives to target people and con them into giving their money to a horrible cause. It's hard when people who start their day at 3 in the morning and don't end until closer to 10 have to fight the misconceptions. So buy and donate local. And avoid PETA and HSUS altogether.
@BuggyBart, Yea, in the wise words of Jennifer Lawrence, screw PETA.
@Regina Falange, that woman is a genius!
Cows, pigs, and chickens are not sentient. I don't think you know what that word means.
At least I'm not stealing food from innocent herbivores. Freaking cruel, rabbit killing vegans.
Too bad it's meat is muscle, more often than it is actual Flesh
"The animal didn't want to die". That's a very bold thing to say when you have no understanding of how an animals understanding and logic works. Oh yeah, most of them have none.
The meat we serve at my work comes labeled with a kill date. Doesn't bother me at all.
that my birthday
Repost of my pic. Shame on you StuckPixel!
What would they put if the animal was still alive? "To be killed by:"?
This person needs to learn how to properly used the word sentient
Well, now you can make sure it's not "fowl"!.....yeah I know, I already booked a six o'clock flight.
Is that person named after a crying tampon, or a tampon that tore something? Questions.
