So true. Also, women can wear pants or skirts, but men can only wear pants. Whats up with that? As a man, I demand equality in this area!
@Philbert, Reminds me of that one Ned's Declassified episode...
@Philbert, Are you forgetting Scotland?
@Der Kommissar, did you just refer to a kilt as a skirt, you barbaric naive Kommissar
@Philbert, where is the law that says you can't wear a skirt? If you want to wear a skirt, then god dammit you wear a skirt. Rock the hell out of it.
@Sunnyfish, you just have to call it a kilt instead
@Philbert, well it isn't illegal
@Philbert, good, become a feminist! Work towards a society with gender equality, where men don't always have to fear something because it's not masculine, and women can live outside their gender standards, too.
@Philbert, Technically, you can wear whatever you want as long as you don't care if people judge you. If you do care, just move to Scotland
@Philbert, this is democracy manifest!
@Philbert, you can wear one. Just keep in mind you may dangle out of it.
@oh HELL NO BITCH, It's not legal everywhere
@Philbert, go ahead and wear a skirt if you like
@Lucidor, It's just frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane
@oh HELL NO BITCH, I was thinking more like countries such as Iran and North Korea
@Der Kommissar, that's a kilt... Because the last wimp who called it a skirt got kilt.
@Philbert, then again, they have extreme hormonal imbalances monthly and let's not forget periods or childbirth
@Philbert, This kid my mom knew read the school dresscode and realized it didn't say boys couldn't wear skirts to school, but when we wore a skirt to school they sent him home. Then he wore a dress to the same result.
@Der Kommissar, Well yea, they're just a bunch of girls.
Chivalry when they like it and sexism when they don't, plain as simple
@chimp magnet, I couldn't agree more.
@chimp magnet, i love how woman go around screaming about how chivalry is dead. If chivalry wasnt dead you would be treated like a dog. You can vote, cant speak durning dinner, your father sold you to the highest bidder and called it an arranged marriage, have absolutely 0 rights. Woman were taken care of in those times because they were thought to be incapable of taking care of themselves. Why they want to reenact those times is beyond me.
@4ocean, cant vote*
@chimp magnet, that's a great quote.
@chimp magnet, this is my first time getting the top comment so I'm just gonna as...*saves to favorites to later admire*
@4ocean, BOOM A great argument
@4ocean, all of those things you just mentioned don't happen because of chivalry though. I talk during dinner because times have changed not because a man is chivalrous enough to let me.
@chimp magnet, Chivalry is sexism.
@Prestidigitonium, your missing the point and dont know what chivalry is, its not men being respectful for woman at all. Chivalry was awful for woman. It was hands down the all time low for womans right. Your implying that chivalry some how gave you freedom. Look up womans rights during those times. Men werent "taking care of you" to be polite or loving, they were because woman were consider to be 2nd class citizens that required to be babysat. Woman didnt have any rights at all during those times. None. You did what your assigned husband (who bought you from your dad) said and that was it. People are under the impression that chivalry was great for woman. When in realty it was awful for them. Imagine being treated like a pet for the rest of your life and tell me how great it is.
@Prestidigitonium, if man didn't want you to speak he would crack your skull to make you stop... How easy to forget that MEN fought MEN for women's rights... And still do... The luck is that more men believe that women should have rights than don't. NEVER take my word for it. Test it out yourself...
I'd just like to point out that this applies to PRETTY women... If I did any of the things that this woman did I would probably receive the same reaction as if it were a man. Jus' saying.
@provogirl14, Yeah. The Lifetime movies only worsen the effect.
@provogirl14, I'm right there with you, sister.
Double standards, aren't they great kids
This is too true...
I think I speak on behalf of all women in the world when I say, who the hell stares at a man's crotch to flirt with them?!?!?
@RissRiss, drunk old native ladies...*shudders*
@DamienWeibs, I don't know what you mean by native ladies. We check guys butts, arms, eyes, teeth, chest, abs etc. but we're more discreet at it than guys...
@RissRiss, No, we just don't call you out on it.
Yeah well if a man sleeps with a lot of women he's a Hero but if a woman sleeps with a lot of women she's a 'lesbian'
Since when is staring at a mans crotch flirting?
As a female I will take the liberty to say that pretty much none of these beliefs apply to my personal worldview, because I believe that gender equality will not be truly realized as long as these double-standards as well as those against women are prevalent in society. I do acknowledge that there are probably plenty of women who are hypocritical like this, but I can't say I've seen much of that because those women tend not to be my friends. I just want to say have faith women who believe in true gender equality do not automatically assume these things, and that includes feminists as well (not trying to speak for all feminists btw, I just know I'm def not the only one who cares for men's rights as well as women's). I just want people who care about women's or men's rights to realize they should be on the same side. By assuming that a post about men's rights is in contradiction to women's rights or vice versa just makes it a gender war and undermines the whole goal of gender equality.
Yeah sometimes I want to express my feelings, but all my girlfriend wants to do is have sex with me
@Sosa, THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON HERE!?
When a woman talks to a kid they don't know: "aww how motherly" ...When a man does it: "PERVERT"
Then again, there is always the whole getting paid less for the same job and lack of respect given to women on a daily basis.
@Boomshigidy, ever heard of a stay at home mom...of course you have THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! I guess a soccer mom should get paid as much as a Foreman or labourer. Bitch please
@LegendarySuperSaiyan, that didn't make any sense as a reply to boomshigidy
@LegendarySuperSaiyan, Yeah stay at home moms don't get paid, but that's irrelevant because working women don't get paid as much as men with the same jobs. Even in Hollywood. And it's harder for them to get promoted
@LegendarySuperSaiyan, Female accountants, scientists, and lawyers are what we're talking about here
@potato27, not sure why someone down voted you so let me fix that. Amen to ya!
I wish people would realize that feminism IS gender equality. Women can't like cars? Men can't like fashion?Its about making people realize that gender shouldn't make you think you should act a certain way. Everybody should and would be more diverse just by breaking these boundaries.
So many guys complain this.. Don't you all realize it's a facade? Men are dominant over women (sorry girls), so we have to share the power with them, or at least make it look that way.
Does it really matter that it's unfair, guys? I mean c'mon, I'd never hit a woman. I'd pay because I'm a gentleman, and I would help a woman with work. While it's not "fair" I do it because momma raised me right. How do you expect a woman to ever like you if you're a complete a*shole to her anyways?
That one about hitting is absolute bullsh!t. Abuse is always wrong. I stopped reading there.
I actually think its romantic if a man suddenly kissed a woman. Only me? Ok.....
Ooh, debates in comments! *grabs popcorn*
Equal rights, equal fights
*obligatory comment about relevant issues*
@little Mexican girl, I like your comment. Ignore everyone else.
First , I'm not sexist. I think sexism is funny, doesn't matter what gender it's for. BUT, men and women can't be equal. Regular women can't lift heavy things like I would be able to, and I can't give birth or breast feed. If we were equal, I would be able to do both of those things, and that would just be strange.
@Bench, The first four words sorta summed up the paragraph. Its like "Im not racist but...."
@GinSan, then you should probably redefine how you sum things up. Because I said that I can't be equal to a woman in certain ways, without writing a novel. But no, you pay attention to the first four words.
@Bench, just because we aren't the same doesn't mean we aren't equal
When you really think about it, all these are kind of making fun of women. It's showing that they can't pay for themselves, do their own work, or even defend themselves.
We have periods, you guys wanna trade?
@Toothlessdiva, For what? Boners in public? Nut shots? Testicular cancer? We got plenty to give.
This is such a touchy subject lol.
And out comes the sexism. Freaking lovely.
THIS is why I always want to split the bill :/ my boyfriend takes it the wrong way though
14 February 2014
I don't like posts like these because there is inequality in both sides, like how to this day we get payed less than men.
Tumblr has tainted me :( I can't no longer see as much truth in this picture as I would like
You dicks have opresssed women for centuries, stop b:tching and make up for it.
@Kyroll, I personally haven't done anything. I have nothing to make up for. You're basically trying to do to men what men have been doing to women for centuries, so you're no better than the men of 1900.
@Kyroll, I had no part in that and therefore do not need to make up for anything
@Kyroll, make up for what exactly? I never really understood why a person needs to make up for the atrocities associated with a particular group they're a part of. If you have treated people with their due respect, you owe no one anything. Period.
@Aaappetheshaftr, dammit I hit the send button
I feel,as a female, that our current situation is perfect. I get stuff for free.
As much as I totally agree with this, men do have a biologically higher libido and so are more likely to have sexual reasons behind their actions. However that in no way is an excuse for the way some people behave or for any form of sexism.
Women have periods and have to carry children for nine months.
I grew up hearing "you can't hit/punch a girl".
If a man suddenly kissed me I would not complain... Depending on the man. XD
When will stuck pixel realize opinionated posts are just giant war bombs.
@ComeOnSon, probably because it's meant to be humorous, considering how it's pretty damn true.
