Well black is the absence of color, so you need to brush up on your physics Dina hashem
@Gov Blackman, if anything that just further proves her point...
@CreamyPies, well can you really not have the color black, if black isn't a color?
@Gov Blackman, if black isn't a color by definition, yes you can not have it.
@Gov Blackman, well I learned that black can be either the absence of color or the combination of all colors. If you are painting and you mix all of the colors, it comes out black. When you look at a computer screen, it is a combination of red, green, and blue, and when those values are equal, they make white, but when they are zero, they make black. So it really depends on how you look at it.
@bronze512, Maybe mixing all the colors together creates a color our eyes aren't capable of processing. Mantis shrimp actually have another kind of cell in their eyes that humans don't have, which allows them to see a wider spectrum of light, I believe.
@Harrison3000, I do care
White is the absence of color.. Black is the combination of all colors.
@Peeta Griffin, white light contains all colors of the spectrum and objects that are black absorb all the colors thus the light reflecting back to our eyes is black.
@SilverGrim, with light yes. But you're talking about colors and pigments then white is the absence of any pigments (like albinos)
@Peeta Griffin, in light, all colors "in equal amounts" equals white. With pigments, all colors "in equal amounts" is brown. Black is a tone, it's own separate "color". In order to make all colors together "black"..you must add enough "black" to make it "black", essentially diluting all the other colors. But in terms of colors being white, even pigments can be white. Take a circular piece of paper, in equal thirds, color a section magenta, cyan then yellow, then spin it fast enough, and to your eyes they become white. And the joke and the "comedian" are dumb, using shock-value instead of real talent to catch attention...
@aiquoy, ah I see. Thanks for clearing it up. I'm not an artist or anything to do with colors so I only pretend I know what I'm talking about. And I agree about the comedian and joke
Doesn't white reflect all colors?
Um isn't black the absorbance of all colors...?
Black & White are shades, not colors
Dina Hashem; that was as dry as your va-j-j...
So can we still have the jobs and health care?
White actually REFLECTS all the colors and black is a combination of all colors.

White and black are shades. Not colours.
