Actually, it's the cocao in the chocolate that is harmful to dogs. Cocao has a higher concentration in dark chocolate, and even still, it'd take quite a bit to hurt your dog. Milk chocolate is virtually harmless. We learned all this when my dog ate half of a 7 pound chocolate birthday cake one year while we were out, haha. The more you know!
