Quick someone get my BlackBerry and document this
I didn't care for Chappelle's newest stand up.
@Sr5turbo, I thought it was pretty mediocre, but I find it hilarious that nearly all of the people pissed off by it are trans or trans activists that are essentially just mad that he dared make jokes at their expense.
Anyone who takes the attitude of “you can make fun of YOUR thing, but you can’t make fun of MY thing!” is a stupid, self absorbed person with a worthless opinion.
@I Are Lebo, "You cant mess with the alphabet people"
@I Am Captain Obvious, they rise to the bait every single time and consistently fail to see how it weakens their own position.
LGBT people deserve equal rights, but they don’t deserve special rights. No one is above being made the subject of a joke.
@I Are Lebo, I hate those kinds of people. I'm a homobro, and you can say the absolute most terrible jokes about gays, and as long as I can tell it's a joke, I'll be laughing.
@Invalid User, my last boyfriend and I actually hit it off because we were talking about how obnoxious the alphabet people at the colleges were since we were both working in Boston. Like he was kinda a trap I guess, but neither of us identified with that group at all
@Invalid User, if you have a shred of common sense, it’s typically very easy to tell the difference between a joke meant to make everyone there laugh and thinly veiled hatred meant only for the person telling it.
@I Am Captain Obvious, it’s the identity politics. For all their talk that your sexuality doesn’t define you, it’s seemingly the only aspect of you that they give a shït about.
That, and your skin colour.
@I Am Captain Obvious, I'm pretty much the same way. I'm gay, sure, but I don't support the LGBT community. I'll help and support people facing actual problems, but the group as a whole is a joke, and they're so unaware of how much big companies make off of them. I'm more scared than anything about how much influence they have
@I Are Lebo, I have to agree with that. They say that everyone is special, and aren't identified by their labels. They then go to create more labels for themselves, and go through all of this nonsense to be addressed by them
@I Am Captain Obvious, what do you mean by “people”?!
@I Are Lebo, I will sometimes say no homo around my guy friends, or sometimes I will exclude myself when they so no homo depending on the situation. I have access to humor other friends can not pocess and we all love it.
@Basil Fawlty, my best friend is black and I’m Jewish. I make racist jokes to him and he makes anti Semitic jokes to me. It’s all hilarious.
People who demand jokes on certain topics be off limits for humour are giving MORE power to that topic. It makes us LESS able to handle tough concepts. Weakness isn’t the answer to life’s challenges.
@I Are Lebo, Your mamma isn’t above it - mostly cos she’s so fat that no one can lift her that high though.
@Nellybert , DAMN, son!
@Nellybert , you see, that shït’s funny
@Invalid User, Maybe you can help me with something. My sister in law announced that she’s queer yesterday - she’s been out as a lesbian for over a decade, so I’m confused. Is being a queer woman different from being a lesbian? I mean, she’s still a she and she still likes girls, so I don’t know how we’re supposed to react - is this a new thing, or just a different name for the same thing?
@I Are Lebo, I’m sure your mother is lovely really.
@I Are Lebo, I hope fat jokes never get counted as a hate crime, fatties and gingers should always be fair game.
@Nellybert , ehh, she’s kind of a bitch. 😜
No, but seriously, that’s the big reason why I give no respect or patience to the fat acceptance movement. Not only will they absolutely push for ‘fat shaming’ to be considered a hate crime, but they’re also totally hypocrites that constantly try to shame skinny people for their weight.
I still remember a clip I saw from a Dr. Phil episode on the topic, where an obese woman in the audience refers to the guest as ‘Skinny Minnie’ and is called on it by Phil.
“It’s okay when we do it.”
@Nellybert , I have no idea. I know queer is sort of an umbrella term for pretty much any part of the LGBT community, as I understand it. She also (no offense to your sister) may just not know quite what it means. Idk. You would probably be better off asking her.
@Nellybert , if you havent done so already, I’d suggest watching the Dave Chappelle special referenced here. The skit he does on the alphabet people breaks down each letter quite nicely (unless you’re trans with thin skin).
.... wouldn’t the mid 2000’s be 2500s? I don’t call 1905 the mid 1900s
@Natural Sarcasm , how dare you bring logic into the house of the internet!
Gotta admit. I'm kinda stoked about all this.
Cracks a cold one
The boys are back in town
The tool album is pretty nice I liked it
