For you kiddos and uncultured swines, this is from Misery, a movie based on a Stephen King novel with the same name. Please read it!

@NameyMcNameFace, I would. However, I'm not squeamish. I know a lot of people who wouldn't set foot in that type of place, but I guess it depends on the level of horror. I mean, harmless fun level or blood on the walls level. That being said: Thing to keep in mind 1. Know the level of horror. Thing 2. Know your demographic. If you feel like maybe families would try it out, have something for everyone. Thing 3. (Personal opinion) I wouldn't spend too much on decorations because you won't know what's in and fresh as far as movies, shows, etc. Thing 4. Take into account the size of your business. How much is too much? Thing 5. MUTHAFVCKN PROFIT! And good luck!

@tha5th, that’s the thing I was thinking blood on the walls. Chainsaw massacre and slasher as movies. Being served pizza by penny wise. Creating a twitter account that scares people. We will also deliver with 2 sentence horror stories written on the inside of the boxes. What I’m saying is, I’m not sure if I want this to be “family friendly” restaurant. At least at first. As far as decorations, it’s going to be classics. Leather face, Jegsaw, scream, Freddy etc.

@NameyMcNameFace, From someone who worked in parent's family restaurant off and on for 10 years, DO NOT go into it unprepared or unsuspecting of the sheer amount of time, preparation, and work that goes just into getting it off the ground, let alone functioning on a daily basis. I mean holy hell. I watched literally a dozen restaurants on the same street rise and fall each faster than the last because the owners didn't realize what they were getting into. When my folks finally retired, they said they felt like a storm had passed. I don't mean to discourage you. You just need to hear reality from someone who's been there. Can it be fun? Yes. Rewarding? Absolutely. But every day can also be a struggle, and there will be ups and downs.

@NameyMcNameFace, Also keep in mind if you will have different horror movie characters serving or hosting/greeting, they would need to be in costume as part of their job. We're talking about a lot of money there alone. Your profits need to justify your losses. That's just one point to many reasons that I feel you've probably thought of already. If that's the case, then it appears you have given this some thought in addition to the science behind running a business. Go for it! Maybe we'll see you on a travel channel show one day. Let us know so we can visit.

@NameyMcNameFace, In my town, no, but competition here is ridiculously high. And it was never my passion in the first place. I'm the wrong person to ask. Research your area and make sure you can handle expenses and logistics if you decide to move forward. For all you know, my experience could be at one painful end of a very wide spectrum. You could end up at the other doing what you absolutely love. Either way, best of luck. For the record, I like your pizzeria idea.

@tha5th, I also thing the coustumes would pay for themselves. Becasue the waiter/waitress would be given more tips than normal waiter/waitress for the simple fact they are in costume. Which will save me money on the back end and not have to pay them has high becasue they get tipped high. And if they “become the character” they could make even more.

@NameyMcNameFace, the idea is fine but although it’s the idea that might draw your first customers and some new customers, the most important thing is delivering a quality product. The answer to your second question demands a further question, is the pizza good? Ultimately that is key, especially for delivery where your theme becomes less important.

@NameyMcNameFace, Seems like an interesting idea, it’s at least a hook to get someone’s attention. You just have to have food to keep regular business. Remember to do marketing and advertising. Also have enough money aside to keep yourself afloat for a couple years. Small businesses especially restaurants have the highest failure rate, but it’s not impossible. Just be ready for a rocky start
Semi related to pic i want an honest opinion with you guys. I’m thinking of opening a restaurant. I plan on making it horror themed. Scary posters, horror movies showing, creepy music in the bathrooms, waiter/waitrresses in costumes etc. it’s going to be a pizzeria, do you think it’s a good idea? Would you eat there?
