Let's just take all the money, and push it somewhere else
@Captain Magma, PUSH!
The floor is following the law and not being investigated by the FBI
@talmet, wait... isn't that what is happening to him rn for tax fraud? Or was that the joke?
@StiffWood, that's the joke
@talmet, it's his wife and the investigation was started by a trump hire
@talmet, but this isn't trump?
@Oujosh29, wrong person in the photo should be his wife or trump to be accurate.
@Donald Drumpf, in correct. It is both of them. The initial complaint was from a Trump hire, but the investigation has recovered numerous files and has found some troubling things about Bernie.
For example: the bank that made the multi-million dollar loan has issued a sworn affidavit stating that they received a call from Bernie's Senate office telling them to "make the loan happen."
@Runnin with scissors, you should look into the investigation on your own, don't just accept what you hear from the media.
@talmet, I did ffs. It's his wife who had issues with the college she was dean of and misappropriated funds potentially intentionally. There have been multi people trump has hired with correlation with russia and has shown signs that not only was he aware of it but could've also impeded the investigation. Maybe you should read up instead of watching Fox News all the time.
@talmet, this is nonsense.
Honestly Bernie was my man, I wish this man was president. Basically every modernized democratic country in the world does the things he talks about, and they're mostly doing fine.
@insomnopus, just like Venezuela
@Zack Fair, Venezuela's a corrupt socialist state on the brink of economic collapse, the US is a republic. Tuition-free public college, nationalized healthcare, green energy grid, and strong social safety nets in numerous European countries have turned out beautifully. The difference between the US and Venezuela is the legitimacy of our institutions.
@insomnopus, Venezuela is the end result of all socialist countries. Did you notice Venezuela was a thriving country before they implemented all their socialist policies? Slapping "nationalized" or "free" in front of things like healthcare or tuition doesn't make them "free." Someone still has to pay for it and when you take money away from the people that are earning it it's not only immoral it's also counter productive because you're now taking away the incentive for someone to be successful. Why try hard if it's going to be taken from you anyway? And when you put these social nets in place people refuse to work because they know they'll get paid either way which is why these socialist utopias you dream of always come crashing down because the debt piles up to unsustainable levels with no one working to pay it off. It really is basic economics, socialism has never and will never work.
@Zack Fair, I never said socialism was a good idea. I listed some policies that plenty of successful countries implement and advocate for their implementation in the US. To say those policies won't work is pretty backwards considering our allies have been implementing them for decades. And yeah taxes would have to be levied and they'd be redistributive in function. Big deal. The young and healthy subsidize the old and the sick in health care, not everyone will go to and graduate from college, and fewer people who do graduate will be crippled by student debt with the implementation of these policies.
@Zack Fair, strawman, Bernie is a democratic socialist, not a plain old socialist. He believes in capitalism for things that SHOULD be incententized by money like the automotive industries, not healthcare and education.
@Aegislash, Bull. He's a self admitted socialist. He added the word "democratic" to socialist later on so fools like you would buy into it easier. It's still socialism. You're taking from people that have earned and giving it to people that haven't. That's immoral. And no, he doesn't want to incentivize any industry because he insists on taxing to death the "one puhsent" or anyone with money. Yeah that's quite an incentive to succeed "do better so I can take more of your money." You obviously haven't done much research here, go look up how much it would cost to implement Bernie Sanders' plans. It was estimated it would've added nearly 20 trillion more dollars in debt over the next ten years. And that's how things like Venezuela and Greece happen. I know you're not one for facts, statistics, or examples, and your logic basically boils down to "I'm here, I'm breathing, you owe me stuff" but that's not how real life works. You're not owed anything. You want something? Go earn it.
@Zack Fair, When U.S citizens pay taxes, and the majority of the nation supports things like medicare for all, it is definitely fair to expect that the government provide said healthcare for the people. Now you have made a strawman of my position, insisting that I expect free stuff. No, what I expect is that the government represent the people of its country. There's a reason Bernie is the most well liked senator in the U.S. because he pushes for policies that the people want. He is also not corrupt unlike the majority of other politicians. I have a question. Do you agree that we should leave the corporations to bribe the politicians, avoid taxes and get bailed out by the government? Because what we have right now isn't a pure meritocracy. There is socialism for the rich (wall street bailouts, tax cuts, you scratch my back ill scratch yours). What Bernie stands for is not letting 45,000 die each year from a lack of coverage and not letting student debt overwhelm the aging generation.
@Aegislash, not to mention his foreign policy and stance on the drug war as well as civil rights is far more forward think than most today. You also mentioned that it is immoral to take away more of the profits of the rich. But is it moral to not pay minimum wage workers a living wage, or provide healthcare for those who need it? Now i personally am skeptical on his claims of free education after post secondary, but I do believe that allowing Bernie to take control would lead to much less spending on military, and more wealth distribution (still well within the bounds of every modern nation) that would push us to bejng able to provide these ammenities like many modern nations already do. One more point I'd like to make is that democratic socialism is modeled ofter northern european countries, the places with the happiest populations on earth.
@Aegislash, Again, not a strawman. You want free healthcare and college. Neither of which are actually free by the way, you just don't want to be the one paying for it. And to answer your question, I absolutely despise corrupt politicians and the corruption in Wall Street or in any corporation. So there's something we agree on. And don't pretend Bernie has some moral superiority. He has millions to his name and is part of the 1% he constantly complains about and owns three houses. On top of that he got completely screwed over by the DNC and instead of standing up for himself or his voters he supported the people that stole the election from him and told his voters to vote for them instead because Hillary bought him out. The healthcare we have works. We lead the world in cures and innovations, maybe there's a reason behind that? Universal healthcare is a mess. There's a reason so many Canadians hop the border into the U.S. when they need surgery.
@Zack Fair, Bernie would gladly pay a higher rate of taxes if it meant that 45,000 lives would be saved from a lack of coverage. Btw i believe he is in the top 3-4% making six figures, not 1%. If this many people die from a lack of coverage each year, the healthcare system doesn't work very well. You know how many people die in Canada from a lack of healthcare? 0. To your point about canadians coming to the U.S for surgery, this is most often for elective procedures because these are covered privately and are not life saving. Bernie supported Hillary for the "greater good" because as we now know for certain, Trump isnt really anti establishment and is doing a lot of harm in office. Many of his supporters also didnt vote or voted for Trump because they were sick of the status quo.
@Aegislash, Bernie COULD be paying a higher rate of taxes right now but he pays 13.5%, just a tad less than the 50% plus that he wants other people to pay. So don't act like he would gleefully give away his money that he gets from taxpayers because he's not doing it right now. How much good could he have done with the $600,000 he spent on his third house? Guess that third house was more important morally than, say, giving it to a charity that he supports. And that's just an outright lie about Canadian healthcare. A large amount of people die waiting to be treated in Canada. They don't come here for "elective procedures" they come here because they don't want to sit on a waiting list for a year while their cancer eats away at them.
@insomnopus, except they're all falling apart. Run away social programs and a lack of production = sooner or later you run out of other people's money to spend.
@Zack Fair, taxes under a Republican president (Eisenhower) for the top tax bracket touched 90% in the 50's and contributed to massive economic growth which evidently "made America great." Stop with the personal attacks and platitudes assuming I feel entitled. We know nothing about one another. I happen to agree with the assertion that many people can't get an effective education or chance to fulfill even modest dreams because of circumstances that could be mitigated by Tuition-free public college, nationalized health care, safety nets, and also publicly-funded campaigns for politicians.
@Aegislash, "is it moral to not pay minimum wage workers a living wage"
Can you explain to me what a living wage is? And why someone with minimum skills is automatically entitled to more of the employers money? How also do you reconcile the fact that you've now made it illegal to hire someone who is not worth paying 'living wage'?
Also explain how the increase in minimum wage has an overall negative affect on the lowest earners.
"Living wage" is a bumper sticker slogan not an actual policy. Why not just make sure everyone is paid at least $100k/year. The. Nobody would be poor... right?
@big freedom, a living wage is a wage that when somone working full time will allow them to live at the bare minimum and survive. Currently we do not have a living wage. If some people regardless of how hard we all work will have to work minimum wage jobs, it is only just that these people earn enough to survive. How is someone who works full time not deserving of a living wage? Besides, there will always be people who will work these jobs because not everyone can be a ceo or doctor. No one is advocating for totally equal wealth distribution, but these large companies should be paying their employees enough to survive, and I'm sure their profits would absorb the impact quite well.
@Aegislash, why is an employer responsible for making someone without enough skills, making more money than the value of their labor? If I employ someone at $15/hr but their labor is only worth $9/hr you have made it illegal for me to employ that person. So you have now hurt the very person you're trying to help. take a basic Econ class or open a business. You'll quickly learn the law of unintended consequences.
Nice straw man fallacy with "not everyone can be a doctor" I'm neither of those. I started working for less than the legal minimum wage because I wanted to work and develop skills. I quickly advanced both my wages and ability to bring value to my employers. Now I make enough to comfortably raise a family. I hire employees that will help my company make more money - so I can hire more people.
That's the beautiful thing about capitalism, it has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system. Ever. Your system would keep them poor and dependent.
As someone not from your country. He would have been a great president for your country.
I had to look up in google translate for the word. He seemed grounded. ( no pun intended)
@80think08, except he would be terrible. Socialism doesn't work. Capitalism is what made our wonderful nation what it is.
@big freedom, capitalism is what was putting 10 year old in factories, it's what's making it so people are dying in the streets, it's what's making it where people are judged by their physical and mental abilities. Socialism is what took kids out of factories that would take their limbs, socialism is what makes it so people that are physically and mentally disabled not have to die in the streets, socialism is what's making about 15 other countries not only be not in debt, but also have higher happiness rating from their citizens than america
@Adamnjensen, right... except that's completely incorrect. Socialism did not stop kids working in factories. Have you seen what happens in China? Your bumper sticker slogans aren't actual policy. Those countries are in debt. Also the fact that we protect them means they have to pay almost nothing for military/defense.
@Adamnjensen, how are the people of Greece doing with their lack of production, and giant social welfare programs doing?
@big freedom, China is currently the biggest capitalistic country in the world? No the their literally not. And the only country without a military is Japan, and that's changing. Like where are you getting your information? Fox news?
@Adamnjensen, having "a military" does not mean you are protected. Do you understand the difference?
Btw I never watch Fox News and I'm not a republican.
@big freedom, ???? That's literally what a military is for? Except we took a crazy route and decided the become the world police. And NOBODY asked for that.
@Adamnjensen, lol. You have no ability to reason. "Nobody asked for that"? That's why we have treaties with so many countries, where we keep military bases and protect them from China, Russia, Iran...
Keep drinking the super liberal cool aid.
This app is supposed to be 17+. You have the rational capacity of a typical doe-eyed high school freshman.
@big freedom, news flash asshole, we're in a lot of those treaties, because it's called being an ally. Which means that when someone goes to war, we'll help. NOT SEND AN INVADING FORCE. And I'm 21 dickbag
@Adamnjensen, you are an imbecile. Why are we allied with them? Is it so they can protect us? Is it so we can protect them?
Do they have military bases within the US? How many nations live up to their commitment to the UN besides the US? You have A LOT to learn about how the world works. Get out of your tiny bubble of conformational bias. See the world from another perspective.
@big freedom, actually, that's how I learned a lot of this. I stopped only listening to the conformitail people. The ones saying there's no racial tension anymore, the ones saying that feminism isn't needed. The ones saying that we need to have a military base in every single country. I started to learn and grow off of research and science. I listened to the little guy. To the oppressed. And wanna know what they where all saying? Everything I've been saying. I'll stop being like this when I no longer need to be. Bet you think global warming isn't real either
@Adamnjensen, ok twit. You may be 21, but you have the rational capacity of a 14yo. You don't have the open mind that you think you do. Quite the opposite. You are extremely narrow minded and convinced that what you have "discovered" is completely correct.
Have a great weekend. I'm off to celebrate.
The floor is being sensible
The floor is being a lying politician.
@ThatFvckingGuy, the floor is your understanding of meme.
@ThatFvckingGuy, Hahahaha! Bernie being honest! Hahahaha!
The floor is being worse than Hillary and Trump
@K1lgore, those dowvotes are worse than Hillary and trump
@K1lgore, I think that is the first thing I have seen you say that I agree with. Not that my opinion means anything but have a like anyway.
@K1lgore, fůck, I got that backwards in my head. He was clearly worse.
@K1lgore, explain how please.
@Runnin with scissors, Trump and Hillary are both crooked liars who have both been invesigated by the fbi, who both have very shady pasts. Bernie is honest, would not have put even more crooked people in his cabinet and he'sunlikely to get us into any wars. Bernie was not good, but he is not near as bad as the other 2.
@K1lgore, Wow everyone, great reasons as to why im wrong. Those downvotes really make good arguments.
@K1lgore, I did not down vote but I will argue with you at least. Bernie and his wife are currently under investigation of the FBI for fraudulent loan aplications for the university that his wife was running and then apparently he used his position as a senator to influence the approval of said application. Secondly "not getting us into any wars" is not really a good standard of judgement, belive it or not there is such a thing as a justified war. Our previous president while he did not start any and in fact ended at least one (Iraq) but in the process destabilized the middle east and has left the entire region on the brink of war. And lastly I would like you to present some evidence of crooked cabinet members.
@Kliment Voroshilov, Jeff Sessions, Mike Pence, Steve Bannon, Rex Tillerso and Mike Flynn. Basically his entire cabinet is full of businessmen and his billionaire buddies, almost all of which have a shady past, especially the ones I listed above.
@Kliment Voroshilov, and also, the middle east has been at war forever
@K1lgore, Jeff Sessions is eminently qualified for the position and as far as a shady past the only thing I saw brought up in his confirmation hearings was that he made some racist joke at some point. Mike Pence again long serving govenor and senator who while I have some policy disgreements with him he is not realy a billionaire buddy of trump. Your about right with Steve Bannon and Rex Tillerson, however so far Tillerson has been doing a pretty decent job as state sec and lastly the Flynn story like the entire Russia story up to this point is a giant nothing (based on the evidence we currently have). We can go on like this down the entire cabinet but I have a feeling I have proved my point.
@K1lgore, Well yes the middle east is a hell hole but it is on the brink of all out war more than it ever has been in recent history. Not to mention that Iran now has nuclear capabilities and has been threatening to wipe Israel of the map.
You people are all idiots. This is unacceptable, iFunny level memeing right here. Shame on the poster, and all the commenters who have no idea wtf is going on.
Hey my 4th upload! Sweet!
