For some reason, the internet: BLACK PEOPLE?!? In MY Star Wars?!?! REEEEEEEEEE
@Kalam1ty, WHEN BLACK PEOPLE AND WOMEN ARE IN MOVIES IT OFFENDS ME
@YUNoJump, “Don’t get triggered! I just said maybe the entire galaxy should be aliens and white people, you can’t say I’m racist, we just disagree!”
@Kalam1ty, ever see a black man on the Jetsons?
@Anass Rhammer, I’d prefer not to, I think, if they did, the Jetsons would probably be banned now, because that era’s animated version of black people was minstrel, blackface-esque exaggerated caricatures.
@Kalam1ty, a black guy working for space nazis though?
@ReeseBobby, implying the empire looks at color of the skin and not what kind of skin you have, they hate aliens not other humans. At least they aren't racist to their own kind
@ReeseBobby, Yeah. He was a child soldier in an organization that believes in human supremacy, not white supremacy. That’s well within the realm of possibility.
@Kalam1ty, except... lando? I guess?
@Kalam1ty, I think they handled Finn well. They didn't make it like he was only in the movie because the movie needed a black person. Him being black is just incidental, not his defining characteristic. They didn't write a 'black' character, they just wrote the role and the guy who landed it happened to be black. I don't think there's anything wrong with that
@Rickenfendsontinsch, you’d be amazed at some of the arguments opposing your point. Some people seem to think that white men have some sort of right to be the protagonist in every movie, and if they aren’t there’s something wrong with the movie. I don’t understand people sometimes.
@YUNoJump, I can assure you those arguments are coming from small, racist subsets of people, and that doesn't represent the opinions of the majority. I think people with that type of perspective are just louder about it
@Kalam1ty, me: A black guy in Star Wars!! Hell yeah!
Later: oh crap! He can’t act! Boooo!!!
Even later: oh how I’ve missed Lando!!!
@YUNoJump, you’re watching the wrong movies then.
That joke was darker than the man himself.
It all makes sense now
So... a light saber turned throwing star. Using the force to hold it and throw it.
