I like me some slow poke memes. But this isn't one.
I mean, let's list all the likely causes of the apocalypse:
Global thermonuclear war
The nuclear winter to follow
These are just off the top and of my head.
@Sambob, people misusing memes
@FriendlyWalrus, that's the only one I'll take action against
@Sambob, the fvcked part is if someone announced an apocalypse level event happening any time in the near future, there will 100% be memes about it like immediately
Saw this on MySpace last week.
Also, you guys heard the news about blockbuster closing? Pretty heavy stuff, dudes.
Good news and bad news. The bad news is that both domestic and wild populations of bees are being badly affected by disease, parasites, and pesticides. The good news is that people are selectively breeding bees to be more resistant to these relatively new hazards.
If you judge the rate at which hundreds of species are dying out currently then we're technically at the beginning of a mass extinction. Species are dying out faster than they were in the worst one in Earth's history that destroyed over 90% of life on Earth at the time.
But the first thing is if you're talking about the news headlines from a few months ago about all the bees are going extinct it was actually just a rare strain of them on a volcanic island in Hawaii which while it does suck is not an extinction level event however there are serious problems with the domestic bee industry in America which do need to be resolved before we all starve to death
@Captain Anderson, they grow effin bees for lives stock, they will not go extinct any faster than chickens.
@DrDisastor, while I do think the idea of bees actually going extinct as livestock animals is the kind of ridiculous considering how much value we place another hour actually several growers of bees who have actually had to completely cut certain farms from their circuit because they lost so many swarms
@Captain Anderson, there are a bunch of crops that don't need bees to survive, some crops even use wind and their pollen to help each other and don't need bees already.
@Hackerman, I don't even know if we're arguing and about what, but a list of crops that require bee pollination are
Black and Red Currants
Acerola – used in Vitamin C supplements
Bok Choy (Chinese Cabbage)
Chili peppers, red peppers, bell peppers, green peppers
Black Eyed Peas
I gotta be honest
This scares the fućk outta me
@Bender B, don't worry, it was recently found that most wild bees are just migrating and moving a lot more than they used to but not dying out. Since bees were thought to be dying out because of this everyone was worried and slowpoke just learned about it.
@Strider1321, I read somewhere that domesticated bees are forcing the wild bees out because the increased domestic bees bread to produce honey aren't leaving enough nectar for the wild population
Laughing at memes?
