"Sir, your transmission is shot"
WHO POPPED A CAP IN ITS ASS!?
Happened to me about two weeks ago. Had to get a tuneup on top of the oil change, and yet after shelling out $1000 for all that... the Check Engine light just came on
@TasteMySquanch, I feel ya. I just dropped 1k on parts to pretty much rebuild my front end. Had to do it all myself cause college life
@Mattific, there's some cheap kits on eBay. They're not Moog, but if money's tight and you don't mind having to do it again in a couple years, they're a pretty good deal. I got all four ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, idler arm and bracket, and pitman arm for like $125.
This is from a U.S Civil war movie named "Honor" just incase anyone was wondering.
@KoalaNamedKoallicus, actually, it's called Glory, it has Denzel Washington(above), Morgan Freeman, and the guy who played Ferris in Ferris B's day off. It's a great movie
@Super GingerBoy, Aww man, My bad. I posted this in the hazy AM hours, I knew it was something like that because I remember watching it a few years ago. Thanks for the correction!
@Super GingerBoy, Mathew Brodrick
Just change the oil yourself tho, its easy as shït
And that you're being scammed.
That's when it's time to get a new car.
@Agent Upvote, Can honestly be cheaper than repairs :/
@Jizz Argo, my mom had an old subaru that needed so many repairs, it was cheaper to just get a new one. It's been so much more fun to use, I can't wait till summer so we can go camping and use the tv in it, since we can't use it while driving.
Everytime I get an oil change they try to tell me I need 8-900 in repairs when there isn't a single thing wrong with my car
@HSA, just keep telling your self that when your car breaks down one day
@HSA, if they keep telling you the same stuff, you might want to get that checked out.
@The Poll Man, I'd know how to repair it better than meineke would. They try to sell me trans and radiator flushes when my fluids are only a couple months old.
@WelI Obviously, I once had a shop tell me I needed new brakes after I had just replaced them
@HSA, one of the benefits of finding a good shop and then sticking with them if you can
@HSA, or learn to do the work yourself and save lots of money!
@WelI Obviously, that's what I've been doing, anything outside of a major overhaul can be done with a modest set of tools and some youtube
I've got the 100k mile maintenance to deal with now. Belts, fluids, brakes and filters. Oil, filters and brakes I know how to do myself, buuuuuuuut it's winter and I'm lazy with school, work and metal band filling my time
I changed the oil in my truck last week. It holds 15 qts, but I drained out 25 qts of a watery oil mixture. Decided it had to go because it either had a cracked head or blown head gaskets, and the standard procedure for replacing them is to pull the cab off.
My aunt once dragged me with her to get her oil changed and the guys were telling her a bunch of bull about her car and how this fluid is usually red and should never be clear and all that junk and I made her leave because last time she was there they did over $1000 in "repairs" and were trying to do the same ones again. I started telling the other person there what the place was doing and they were so mad because he just agreed to $900 of stuff and oh boy his reaction was great.
Sorry people! :P I'm an honest tech and help everyone with their cars!!
That's what I went through. Like I went for an oil change and then suddenly everything's wrong with the car
Usually it's cuz they are trying to upsell
Reminds me of something that happened to my friend : During break, he had an appointment with a doctor because his back was hurting for quite a while. Turns out, he has asthma.
Got my windshield washer pumped fixed back in August and apparently as they were driving it out of the garage, my brake line blew. I had a hard time believing them.
@Buffalonian, if it happens in their possession it shouldn't be hard to get them to fix it on their dime.
