He said "A knife" as in one knife. So not possible to cover his shoulder. BTW a little on the same topic, I love the fact that in US you can drive at 16 years old but you can't buy a torch....
@TroolFace, it's fine we have flashlights.
@TroolFace, wait really? What are the dangers of a 15 year old buying a torch?
@TroolFace, a torch? Like a flaming stick torch? Or just the UK word for flashlight?
Idk what he meant by torch, but Ik that cigarette lighters are age restricted, at least in my State.
@TroolFace, yeah I thought you meant flashlight, are you talking about a propane torch or any kind of gas torch like that?
@TheWhiteGuy3, so you would buy a torch to use it as a flashlight? Yeah you don't deserve the right to buy it...
@YUNoJump, maybe as many as a car. A car can be way more dangerous then a torch. So if he's allowed to drive a car, why not buy a torch?
@Richard Cypher, I think that torch was the wrong word, but I mean like one of those things that you press a button and a flame comes out of it. No, I don't mean a flamethrower.
@Jipz, yes. Something like that, I don't know the exact name given to it.
@TroolFace, A lighter?
@BigJohnson87, firstly to which comment did you respond? I need context for that question.
@TroolFace, if you meant a lighter like for lighting cigs, then I think it depends on the state. There are many different kinds including cheap little BIC lighters or grill lighters. I don’t smoke but I’ve never had any issue buying any kind. but I could understand a kid trying to buy a BIC lighter for smoking cigs being refused.
Also you have to take a drivers test before being allowed to drive at 16(though the tests should be more strict these days) so unless they test everyone on fire knowledge, they might require an age restriction so that (hopefully) common sense might be helpful in being responsible.
In addition there is also drinking age limits but people still drink and drive, same as adults can’t use fire properly and start fires and burn whole forests and communities down.
@TroolFace, where do you live?
@TroolFace, cause you either live somewhere that doesn't know the term "lighter" or you are just stupid
@ILoveKnawedge, both are wrong. And not even gonna respond since you just offended me.
@TroolFace, actually in some states (one I think is south dakota) you can drive at 14
@TroolFace, this whole comment thread is a mess... are you British? Because in England they call flashlights "torches" which is where the confusion came up, and we can definitely buy flashlights in the US before 16. If you meant a lighter, it's to prevent people from smoking at a young age, obviously you could just use matches but lighters aren't really used for anything other than smoking (the zippo/bic kinds) where as matches are often used to light fires/candles.
@TroolFace, I have a feeling you are going to use this torch to light up a nail and take a dab?
@TroolFace, lighter. The word you are looking for is lighter. And that makes your statement make a lot more sense
@TroolFace, On the other hand, it doesn't say you can't have MULTIPLE knives, as long as they're all shorter than 3.5".
@PunnyBaker, as far as I know a lighter is that small "box" that you press a button a little flame comes out of it and normally you light cigarettes or matches with it. I'm talking about something like the shape of a weapon, something like what you might use to weld something.
@TroolFace, ahhhh yes. Well then you would be correct. The thing that welders use is called a torch or a welding torch. Theres also kitchen torches for chefs and bakers. So that would make sense too.
I guess just with the wide diversity of people on this app with various regional terms and you just saying "torch", made it confusing for people haha.
Always good to get clarification before assuming someone is an idiot :)
@PunnyBaker, yeah I should have been more specific. But it did lead to this great conversation. Well he wasn't wrong, I am an idiot. I just don't like people assuming it.
@PunnyBaker, he probably ment blowtorch but forgot that that was a word
@Kore810, forgetting to blow always turns out bad haha
@TroolFace, after clarification, i am sorry for my comment
Yeaaaaaaah my high school had everyone wearing tank tops and you'd get expelled for bringing a knife to school.
But now that I’m in college, I can bring whatever I want and wear whatever I want
@shocking60, Maybe at your college. I tried to dress up as a pointy-headed bedsheet ghost and I got kicked off campus until I took sensitivity training.
You go to school to learn, not to fvcking show off your style.
Big deal, I can’t go to school wearing power armour. Not that that could stop me if I did.
Cutting edge commentary
Maybe they don’t care cause teenagers are suicidal and just cut heir own wrists
Yes, I too pick any unrelated items to prove a point.
