Even if legend of korra could have been better, i still enjoyed it a lot. It was a pretty well done continuation of the previous series. We could have had another teen Titans situation.
@Ginger Incorporated, now we need another atla series.
@Gundamfan0083, They should just keep avatar going like Doctor Who. Just change the avatar every few seasons
@ChuckxWagon, I’d love that, even if it was just the daily lives of the avatar going around doing avatar stuff that didn’t involve saving the world every other week.
I heard a rumor that if the current LoK comic (turf wars) does well then Netflix might pick it up and do a season or two where the comic leaves off. I hope the rumor is true but I won’t hold out hope
@Ginger Incorporated, I dot get the hate it gets. Season 2 is the only one that struggles. The rest are great with awesome villains and themes, and korra is a fantastic character.
@Ginger Incorporated, I enjoyed it up to the last season. Then it felt like they were randomly changing characters personalities for no reason.
@Ginger Incorporated, get this man a nobel prize!
@Nogard, loo you're too kind
@nemestrinus , imagine a cyberpunk avatar
@Weird Porn Stash, the only problem I had with Korra was how god dam fast they advanced, even with the introduction of metal bending... you don't just jump from ancient China to the late 1800s... I get that it's a fictional world but the World that Avatar created was so great and that one fact just kind of broke the world for me.
@Blasphemy is Fun, I think it makes sense. We saw all the technological progress that the Fire nation alone made during the war, and this is a world we're people can control the elements and there's one specific person that every nation respects and looks up to. Progress would go incredibly fast in conditions like that. Mining now becomes easy because you have people that can literally control earth, electricity isn't difficult to learn how to use because you have lightning benders, etc. the only technological thing I have an issue with would be the spirit cannon in season 4. But that's basically just magic, so I give it a pass.
@Weird Porn Stash, the lightning benders bothered me a lot. Lightning bending is supposed to be extremely advanced, so much so that only firelord Ozai, Iroh, and Azula (a prodigy) could master out of all firebenders of their time. Seeing like 10 peasants casually welding with lightning tore a hole in the narrative
@Ginger Incorporated, I'm just mad they never mentioned Azula. She's my favorite, and nothing. Asami's mom kinda looks like her, but I don't remember if they ever shared her name.
@AmigoTaco, True. But the lightning bending were shown in korra is noticeably weaker than last airbender. I think it's conceivable that is a simpler version of it was discovered over time. Easier to do, but not as powerful as a result.
@Weird Porn Stash, hmm I never thought about that. I thought the challenge lied in just creating the spark (the positive/negative thing Iroh explains) considering Zuko never got it, but if people can pick up metal bending so easily, I guess it makes sense they could pick up some form of lightning bending. Once you know it's possible, it gets easier in a sense.
@AmigoTaco, I've also heard another theory that lightning bending was kept within the royal family during up until Zuko's rein.
@Weird Porn Stash, both those theories together would make a lot of sense. Makes me feel better about that decision lol
@ChuckxWagon, k....kill the avatar ever few seasons?
@EpicFailuser, or just skip ahead in time until the previous avatar dies of natural causes. Though, if you do the math 10000 years/ 183 avatars you get about 54.6 years per avatar, even less when you consider Kyoshi was 230 and aang was (technically 160) when they died throwing the average off. long story short, avatars don’t generally live very long lives so switching out every few seasons wouldn’t be very hard.
and yes, yes i have overthought this.
@ChuckxWagon, The year is 2152, we are on Avatar 43. She is actually a he in disguise. The world is triggered.
I'd rather inspect her elements, knowwhatimsaying?
@Fight Club, your fired
I feel like I'm biased here from loving ATLA, but I couldn't even like korra at all. i like tenzen and that's it lol
@DrCoktopus, i liked learning what happened to the original team avatar
I saw a woman being forced with her mouth open and I had dirty thoughts, is someone here a priest who can offer confession?
