Idk where you get your information but he’s never said he’s going to take your guns away. Like ever. Criticize his plans and actual policies w/ potential outcomes, but don’t make up random BS. Also waiter, there’s politics in my funny pics, another meme please.
@A Flying Panda, it's hard baked in. A dem prez not snatching guns is a dem that'll get found at the bottom of an elevator shaft filled with lead. The papers would read he committed suicide by falling on bullets.
Hyperbolic as it is theres no denying that they want to take guns away.
He's big on nuclear energy, I think that's the biggest environmental change we can make 🤔
@sploot, agreed. If we just release the power of nuclear energy on some useless urban centers in China and India we can solve overpopulation instantly and greatly cutback emissions
Like come on, his actual slogan is
“Make America Think Harder” I like also the one that he tells that he isn’t left nor right but to move forward and gives no explanation
@seeUpee, I like money and dont care about the consequences of the future so I'll vote for him
@idubbbz, good luck with being rich for the last decade we might ever have then.
@seeUpee, He was a tough pill to swallow and I thought he was way too good to be true. But did a bit of research and found he has more policies and plans than anyone on the field. A UBI touted by the Dean of economics at Harvard, Medicare for all like the others candidates, the implementation of Thorium nuclear reactors that are meltdown-proof for energy are just a couple of them. If you took a bit of time to check out his plans on his website or catch a podcast you might find that his plans are actually quite extensive and he understands the position America is in and how to move us in a better direction, ‘forward’ if you will. Vote for who you want next election but I’ve hedged my bets that this guy is probably the best shot.
@A Flying Panda, hey man, I’m all for new ideas... where is the money coming from? Is what we need to be asking ourselves... but for the uneducated all they care is money... if you look into what he is proposing he can not even raise not even half of the 2.8 trillions needed to make this work
@seeUpee, except hes adding a VAT, and those already with handout cant get more than $1000, and itll simplify overhead, lots of other things too much to type out just google it
@seeUpee, my understanding is that he’s getting the money from a very new type of tax.
You know how your phone listens to you even when you’re not using it. You know how companies buy and sell your information. He’s going to tax the living füçk out of those transactions and have that pay for UBI.
Or... that’s how I understand it.
@seeUpee, well in the case of Medicare for all, it’s reported to save Americans $8000 a year. However since a lot of Americans get health insurance through their employers it translates to saving companies $8000 per employee while the employees pay higher taxes to pay for it. So if your employer were to them give everyone a raise to cover the higher tax then it would work out in everyone’s favor. However there is no guarantee employers won’t just pocket the money saved, so a minimum wage increase might be a good idea.
@BearDaniels, except that a minimum wage increase disproportionally hurts small businesses while big businesses just end up cutting hours to employees. Big business got a tax break and instead of giving people raises, they just pocketed the money or bought back stock. You think that business saving money on medical wouldn’t do the same?
@Dashkatae, nope I think they probably would. If things continue how they are we’ll all be celebrating Bastille day
@colt1245, so... you honestly think that when some dumbass bum uses up their $1000 for the month and is now starving, or homeless or whatever, that there won’t be another $10k in overlapping bureaucracies to “help” him?
@A Flying Panda, u seem pretty well informed so I’ll ask u... who is yang
@bobbylupo, andrew yang, dude running for president in the democratic party
@big freedom, ehhh thats not what the less over head is addressing. Its more for if say someone has 1k in food stamps and unemployment theres lots of people watching to make sure theyre not abusing it. And some people run into the issue of if they get a job theyll switch brackets and lose their benefits which will cause them to lose money so they dont get a job or take those opportunities. Thats more what this is addressing. People can still keep their other benefits if the benefits are working for them. They just cant get the 1k then
@colt1245, thank u
@colt1245, it’s a great idea to think. Unfortunately it’s been proven to not work even in tiny homogeneous populations. Here, there is absolutely no shame (in certain populations) about being poor or dependent on government subsidies. They are proud of it even.
@big freedom, id be interested in reading any studies youve found about it. Yang cites some where it shows a general increase in well being. If youve found things to the contrary id love to read them
@colt1245, that’s correct, general increase in sense of well being. Period.
The government is not supposed to “provide for your general sense of well being”.
Btw, That’s what slave masters used to claim as well. The government (at least here in US) is to defend the individual rights and liberties of the people.
Also, creating dependency on more government just gives more power to the government and allows them to be even more corrupt. Something that I’m very against.
I’d rather be homeless and free than a slave.
@big freedom, good points i hadnt really thought of it from that perspective. Are you rooting for anyone? Imo with the size companies are growing they have the power to act as a government over their employees which is why they need regulation and i favor democrats. However it seems like most democrats dont have the grasp of the current world that yang does
@colt1245, I’m anti democrat for the reason you stated above. Big business literally gets to write their own laws and regulations through their whores... sorry, “elected officials” in congress.
My problem with the Republicans, is that they lie about being fiscally conservative. They are not.
My problem with Democrats, is that they tell the truth about the asinine laws they want to enact.
The one thing that would be a positive about a Trump presidency, would be that people finally wake up and stop granting that office so much power. It should not have any more power than congress. But congress is filled with spineless and/or brainless cowards who have ceded all of their power to the president.
I will not vote for any incumbent, ever. I wish so much for term limits. Serve 2 terms at most and go home.
@big freedom, ya but until voting reform gets passed to move from a first past the post system the 2 party system will stand. At least yang is pro ranked choice. his idea to use smart phones and blockchain for voting is asinine though
He was on the Ben Shapiro show so at least he isn't scared to talk to people with different opinions.
@CrazyRightWinger, I don’t love Shapiro typically but I really liked the questions he asked of yang. Thought he ran a solid interview and didn’t let yang off ease on issues like where the money comes from.
@Cave Dweller, you live in a cave or something? Oh... wait
I like Yang as a person but I wouldn't want him to be the guy in the room with Putin
@Krycek, I agree but... I’m not sure I like any of the options for that sit down. In a weird way I’m kinda surprised to say I think Pete or Klobachar might be my preferred of the given options.... they are not my number one for anything else and I’m concerned as I write that I think those are our best for this.
@Canis Arktos, I think the best person to put in a room with Putin is the guy we have right now.
@Krycek, ... I would agree... his temperment is a solid block to the strong arm tactics Putin and Xi use... I can’t believe I’m saying this but we’re not at war with anyone... yet... and I’m kinda ok with how he’s handling Iran. I’m super skeptical but... so far so good. The thing I’m worried about is his motivation. I’m worried his motivations will cause him to work in his interests over the nations. Our debt keeps rising, he’s not exactly brining people together, and I just can’t shake how many of his people have been run out of town for corruption/misuse of funds. The impeachment is poorly done. I’ll side with you on that. But I still see the guy who stole from his veterans charity to make a painting of himself. I don’t know. I’m looking for other options. I’m not positive they’re being offered to me but I’m looking hard for other options.
@Canis Arktos, every politician’s net worth went way up when they joined politics, trumps has gone way way down since he joined. That’s how you know he is doing it to help the nation and not get kickbacks like literally everyone else
@Joeyc1, I’m ... intrigued by your argument. An angle I had not considered. Still, regrettably I’m not convinced. The man has gone bankrupt more than once and still landed on his feet. I imagine he’ll weather this storm too... on a slight aside, I’m actually a bit ashamed to say that I actually don’t know how I feel about that. I don’t like the man but that normally isn’t enough for me to wish I’ll things on them. It also doesn’t mean that he can’t serve a function. I am ... uncomfortably perplexed on the topic of him.
