@GayShjtSniper, the heater core generally is placed under the hood, but close to the area where the glove box is. This one is leaking pretty bad, and into the actual glove box. I have some knowledge in this area, but the only explanation I can think of for this to happen would be a serious car accident. The break would have to go through all the stuff that separates the engine compartment from the “inside the car” compartment.

@Who Nose, plenty of heater cores are under the dash. Hench having to remove the entire dash to swap out a $40 tiny radiator making it a $600, 3 day job. Heater cores under the dash aren't new. Old Ford trucks were under the dash but accessible from underneath. Old Chevys were in a separate box in the engine bay though. But most all newer vehicles have it under the dash. They can leak or get plugged (inside the coolant channels or outside where air flows). Both are reasons for replacement. This car just has a very large leak. Or a slow one that this person just found. And the core happens to be partially above the glove box.
