Watched a documentary where they had embedded a reporter with the Taliban. They would refuse to actually train marksmanship, thinking God was guiding their shots. There was an ambush on a US convoy, small road down a valley, complex ambush ied ground both sides of the valley, far side had an old dushka. US called for fire and creamed the dushka pit, all the trucks drive off. You'd think they would be mad they failed and lost, but they started celebrating and claiming they killed "at least 30 Americans!" to the reporter. Documentary ended when they got held hostage for awhile by the splinter group that was supposed to cross them back, that then said F it and just robbed them and let em go with the footage only.
This is true, we got hit by an IED in the CAR, they tried to use an EFP on us (a shaped IED that uses molten copper or brass) but they shaped it the wrong way. So we’re driving down the road and all of sudden the road and bush next to us get vaporized in a cone about a mile long. Didn’t get any contact for a while after that
@KoolHandLuke, glad you and your team survived
The was an investigation done by the US military because they found of bunch of insurgents shot in the head, assuming that soldiers were executing them. The investigation found that the shots were taken at hundreds of meters, because the only thing exposed was them sticking their heads out.
