I feel like i could understand better if wasn't busy counting pixels.
Racist? Yes. True? ...a little.
Why would someone upvote a blatant racist comic. Its not even funny racist. It seems like something that would be on a white supremacist site
@The Imp, everything i don't like is a white supremacist comic. Okay
@Master Alucard, no just things that are super racist. Like saying white people gave black people civilization then black people burnt it to the ground abd blamed it on white people. Then having then having the black people say "we wuz kangs" which is such a racist way to depict black people that it makes me want to puke. Its like verbal black face. Also it wasn't that I just didn't enjoy reading it so I called it racist because why not. I called it racist because it is racist. There are different levels of racist humor. Showing five white people and one black person about to race and having the caption saying "I wonder who will win" is fine. Where as having a cartoon of a black guy with a super dark and droopy face with big ridiculous lips looking confused at 2+2 and having the caption say "jigaboos cant do math" is not okay. Its a gradient scale and this comment falls on the part that is not okay.
I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it's a reference to the Billy Joel song... "We didn't start the fire, it was already burning since the dawn of time."
Could be wrong.
@Suicide Squad Sucks, nope. It's mocking African Americans who twist history into saying that all accomplishments were done by them. Such as saying Lincoln, Mozart, Einstein were black, that they created nuclear power plants thousands of years ago, etc. These positions are obviously ridiculous, but this is also a pretty racist way to show it, because we wuz kangz is a negative stereotype mocking aave, as well as these people
@Pope Temporal, was not aware of any of that...
@Pope Temporal, Yea, this isn't exactly a good way to mock the historical revisionists cause this is basically implying what the black guy is saying in the comic is true for white people instead.
@Pope Temporal, I hate when black people say that ALL accomplishments were done by them. I mean we get it black people you guys are great and have it super good.
@The Imp, I am confused as to what you are saying? I'm just saying that these notions that many afro-centrists produce are quite ridiculous, but that the phrase "we wuz kangs" is insulting to all African Americans and that mocking them like that makes one no better than them
@Pope Temporal, I wouldn't call the claims ridiculous
@The Imp, just to clarify, you would say claims such as "Lincoln and Einstein were both black" aren't ridiculous?
@Pope Temporal, I've never seen a genealogy report on either man and I wouldn't say its ridiculous to say they could have black heritage.
@The Imp, they don't just claim heritage, they claim that they were visibly black, as in having black skin. Just a clarification right there. If that's the case, how would Lincoln have been elected, and why would all pictures of Einstein depict him as white?
@Pope Temporal, Many historians believe Abraham Lincoln was at least half black. I really cant say much to the effect of Einstein. I can tell you that Afro Centrism is about trying to put black people back into history in a positive light. Many black accomplishments have been erased from history by conquering white men. Its possible that historians could have reached a little far when doing this, but I would not call afro centrism ridiculous.
@The Imp, I've never seen anything about your first claim, so that's something to look into. I agree that we should teach black history in the same way we teach European history, and teach the accomplishments; there are many great accomplishments and advancements that came due to Africa, as well as African Americans in the US that we can credit them with. Let's teach those instead of taking accomplishments of other races and changing the history. All races have contributed to social development and should receive due credit. Just as white washing is very frustrating and can result in people of other races being discredited, the contrary is also true. Teach prominent black leaders, such as Frederick Douglas and sojourner truth, as well as people like Nelson Mandela and Shaka zulu, instead of claiming that a black woman wrote shakespeare.
@The Imp, We have pictures of both men, and they are clearly white. I also find it very hard to believe Lincoln was at least half black without that ever being used against him, especially in his time.
@Laika the Space Dog, its a recent discovery
@The Imp, No... If he was half black, people back then would sure as hell have known. In the Reconstruction era, Homer Plessy was arrested because he was 1/8 black, and it wasn't even visible at all.
@Laika the Space Dog, right it wasn't visible which means someone would have had to discovered it back then. Lincoln wasn't persecuted because as I said this is a recent discovery so no one knew
@The Imp, I think you misunderstood me. Homer Plessy appeared completely white. The police still knew he was 1/8 black. People had a clue about where they came from back then, they weren't in the dark. Ancestors weren't just forgotten, they had records.
