"Building a high end pc is so much cheaper than consoles guys, I swear"
@Your Waifu, although I love pc way more than console, you could never get me to admit that.
@Your Waifu, depends on what you get, you can definitely build a decent pc for the price of a console, but a high end one? no. but a pc does offer you more freedom
@Swagnamite, I know, I'm taking a jab at all the people out there whose go to argument against consoles is "you can make a pc better than a console for less than a console costs", which you and I know isn't true but these type of people have insisted is. Pcs are great, but they're definitely not that cheap.
@Your Waifu, I like the trap you have made
@Your Waifu, so is this 12 gauge combat shotgun I bought, now be a sweetheart and load it into my truck
@Your Waifu, it is cheaper in the end. Higher starting price point (you can get a PC as powerful as a console for the same price or less), yes. But sales are much more common on pc which lets you get more games. I love all my gaming devices (got consoles too) but I love my PC the most
@Elmato, Yearly costs for bring able to use the internet that you already pay for also drive the end cost up.
@Your Waifu, it depends on when the console releases. Newly-launched consoles are cheaper than PCs of equivalent power, but after about three years of a console's lifespan, things start shifting.
@Rtas Vadum, well funnily enough, the main time I hear this is around when the consoles launch.
@Your Waifu, it’s not cheaper but it’s pretty fun, until you have to set keybinds for all the games you play
@Your Waifu, just dont buy a pre-built one so much better to learn how it wokls
@Your Waifu, I understood you...
Mine has 5.9 powerpiss
If you wanna get technical, the new card WOULD be 1045 times better in this case.
@Pyvin, well that depends on the difference between a shjt and a fart.
The only difference between the version of my laptop I bought last year and the one on sale this year is +£300 and the word ‘super’ in part of the description.
Well console for me
3090 FTW! FarCry 6 at Ultimate settings is amazing
It's mostly about the freedom. If a game comes out, it's probably gonna be playable on PC, either by default, or once the pirates and emulators get to it. Mods, VPNs, High FPS at ultra graphics. You can even use a controller input if you still want to. Decent PCs are no more expensive than consoles, but if you really really love gaming, and that's the hobby you want to invest in, PC is the platform that can go above and beyond.
Well I don't know the conversion rate from farts to shjts, but mega to giga is a factor of 1000x so yeah I would be excited too.
But how many tera-sharts?
I've never bought a legit gaming PC. I usually buy HP Envy series computers every ten years and they usually have more than enough power to play whatever I want. I don't need a fancy $3k+ setup for what I'm into.
I have a HP Envy laptop from 2009 that still turns on that I can play some older games on. windows 7 and needs a new wifi card but I don't need wifi for things like Sims 2.
The people that tell you that you HAVE to have a custom built expensive PC are somewhat lying to you. For many people, what you see in the store is good enough if you know what you need. The fancy ones you see are for things like World of Warcraft online and all that.
Personally I prefer console. After a long work day I like grabbing a beer and sitting on my couch with my dog while I play whatever I want to thay evening. Its simply preference.
My friends suckered me into building a PC since they switched off xbox. I'm $700+ in the hole and I still need a better graphics card and replacement optical drives, even with using my video card and tower from my last PC. On the plus side, it runs now, so I got that going for me which is nice.
