My friends from Cali are rather close to whatever fire is currently happening. #praythatmyhomiesmakeitoutsomewhatcrispy 🙏
@M0RT0S, I live in Cali too and even have a friend who is a firefighter so I can get behind this cause
@M0RT0S, do you know which fire it is? Or where they’re from?
@vonwulf337, nope and nope, sorry
@M0RT0S, Theres more than just one large fire going on, but the two big ones are the Carr fire and the Mendocino fire.
@M0RT0S, I just got back from Sonoma county and you can see the haze from there
I whole heartedly support your decision to not live in california
Being a California I can say all these do indeed suck big time, but the beauty in our state is still there you just gotta know where to look!
@Kareem Abdul Ackbar, you're a California?
@Kareem Abdul Ackbar, So what's it like to be an entire state?
@Kareem Abdul Ackbar, mountains and the beach in the same day you can't beat that.
@Conner, we are a California
@Kareem Abdul Ackbar, i'm looking to move there. Is the any area that doesn't cost an insane amount to just exist?
Haha just kidding up north where I am is not horrible, fires aren't great though. The bigger cities and surrounding areas are gonna be the worst but anywhere your at is good. I personally loved when I lived in San Luis Obispo that area is cheap and beautiful.
@theshadosnipe, hahahahahahahahaha that's a good one. There are places in extreme northern California that aren't TERRIBLY expensive, but you're also looking at small towns with no work anywhere.
@Kareem Abdul Ackbar, hello, fellow NorCal person!
@theshadosnipe, there are tons of places in California that don't cost too much to exist. The further out you move away from the Bay Area / LA / San Diego, etc. the cheaper it is. Think Central Valley. I wouldn't live in those places though. I'm spending the extra insane amount of money for us to exist in the Bay Area.
@Diabolik, how do you afford that unless you're really high up the corporate ladder though?
@theshadosnipe, One thing you don't need a corporate ladder for in the Bay Area is a gig in a tech company. A lot of positions in tech offer six figure salaries. Also, the Bay Area also pays more to offset the cost of living here.
In California can confirm live in so cal go to school in nothern California stay away from northern California
@jeewjitsu000, Eyy I live in Southern California! Sucks here, too!
@SimonPetrikov, not as much as nor Cal trust me
@jeewjitsu000, you’re hella wrong
@Your Darkest Secret, the fact you said hella tells me sheet you are from also yeah traffic 2000 a month studio apartments which I believe is some of the most expensive housing anywhere
Yeah no. I stay away from California.
I feel like I’m one of the few people here who actually likes living in the state that I live in (Kentucky).
@wtninja, I like living in Texas.
@king of sharks, the stars are bright late at night...
@Your Darkest Secret, clap clap clap clap, deeeepppp in the heart of Texass.
I didn’t think anyone wanted to live in California during the summer. They want to live there during every other season, but not the summer.
Crappy state, or crappiest state?
except in San Francisco where is balmy 60° and windy and cloudy all day
This is so true it hurts.
The only good part about the fires is when it’s not on top of you, so you get to see the sky completely void of the clouds and sun cuz there’s so much grey smoke everywhere. That and when you step outside it smells like fresh firewood.
*looks at temperature map*
*looks east at arizona*
Sounds about right
Don’t show me pictures of Australia mate, what’s your point?
As a Californian, save yourself and your money, move somewhere else
@I am the potato, I hear Nevada is nice (actually, not really). But keep out of Oregon
I live in the Bay Area and I haven’t seen a warm day since visiting Arizona. It’s August and I can’t leave the house without a sweater.
Tbh I live in Reno Nevada and I kinda hate California. Mostly because we are down wind of most of the fires. I really wish they’d stop lighting themselves on fire tho!
Ppl from west coast always says east coast(florida) is hotter than cali.(west)uhhhh no. We don't get our things melted when exposed to the sun or wild fires, nor 3ple digits degrees.
@freakazoid, Most of California (also goes for Nevada and Arizona) subscribe to the "...but it's a dry heat" argument on the matter. Which is mostly an opinion.
@Phace Jones, yes i understand the dry heat situation. But holy sh!t their heat is just worst than east coast. I went to pheonix last month and holy fu.kng sh!t heat during day(3ple digits) AND night(90s). Florida dont even get like that.
@Phace Jones, humid heat as gross as it feels...at least you get to keep the sweat to cool you off. Sweat from dry heat gets whisked away. #edit I was born in Louisiana. So humid heat always promised rain.
Im Californian and my worlds on fire how about yours? Thats the way i like it and i never get bored.
