When it's just not enough
Ever wondered if our entire counting system would be different if humans had 4 or 6 fingers per hand? We use a base-10 System, but if we had no fingers at all, we might be using binary.
@FP Waiter, fun fact: we count time in twelves because the mayans counted using each knuckle on their hands (they didn't count thumbs)
@FP Waiter, in fact, there are quite a few different counting systems that have developed. One culture even came up with a base-27 system (including parts of the arm, neck, ears, and forehead).
@Depressed Panda, am I high or do I only count 4 knuckles on my hand
@FP Waiter, definitely high. Each finger has three knuckles. They can even be used to measure depth. For example, upon seeing Jimmy picking his nose, one might remark "Wow, Jimmy's really going for it. He's up to the second knuckle!"
@Depressed Panda, the ancient Sumerians had base 60! To count, you can use one of five digits on one hand to point to one of twelve knuckles on the other.
Base 60 is far superior to base 10. It's soooooo divisible. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30 and 60 times tables would've been super easy. What do we have? A grand total of four factors in our base? Screw the decimal system.
@FP Waiter, Egyptians used a base 12 because they counted the spaces between the fingers m
I get it
Oggy and the Cockroaches!
I love this show
You can never fully enjoy this show unless you hear the Taiwanese Narrator talk over this show. Faqin loved watching this in Taiwan.
He is the Perfect Ten...
Very self-aware, I like it!
How can math be real if our existince isnt real?
