My brother had "water" tattooed on his wrist in Japanese, and as a prank, my mom got a Japanese friend of ours to grab his wrist in disgust and call him a "naughty disgrace to his family." The look of horror was the best thing I had ever seen.

As someone who has foreign language tattooed on me....i chose to go to the library, get the chosen language translation book, photocopy the word, photocopy again to enlarge it, then take to tattoo shop to trace it.
