@ORGANIC, well it wouldve been helpful if trump actually shared his information on the virus prior to the new administration actually taking over office and also if they had ordered the maximum number of vaccines. Kinda like a snowball effect as the problem goes unchecked for a long time it can get to the point of being way more difficult to deal with.
-
@That one lurker, you can deal with a pandemic disease early on and have a large effect with preventative measures, its much harder to stop or change a pandemic disease once its spread to this level. Thats not what Biden wanted to say, its what the epidemiologists are saying. The only way out now is to crank out vaccines and hit that herd immunity mark
-
@My Opinion is Trash , he said "it will take months to turn around the trajectory of the pandemic" you fùcking putz that is a bad faith misquote by a partisan hack of a reporter. It is entirely reasonable that a disease which has spread to such a level as this that it will take time and will be hard to change direction especially with people like you arguing about the measures taken at every trun

@jouze, sure, Trump did things Biden says he wouldn't do and is not doing now. Trump closed the borders when the pandimic first started, Biden called him a racist. Biden has called off ice, boarder patrols, and stopped funding to the wall. As a Caravan is coming up. We're going to see the selective enforcement of laws from politicians who are not scared of the crisis. Need anymore of an example, Joe's first hours in office signed an executive order, an "encouraged" mask mandate for any person on Federal property. Then he goes out to watch fireworks with his family, non are wearing a mask. As for the vaccine, I don't trust the new way they're going with it. I'm not comfortable with an RNA vaccine, if this was a standard vaccine like a flu shot, yeah I'm all gold. But a vaccine that literally rewires a portion of your DNA to stop it from producing an enzyme that the virus feeds off of. Should only make a stronger virus. Trying to cure the thing is folly, we need to learn to live with it

@big freedom, you know dàmn well thats a crap argument that doesn't help anything. So what because the democrats did it that makes it okay for Republicans to do it? You and I know full well this kinda crap has been going on in the media way longer than that and at this point who gives a crap which side started it. it deserves to be called out and ended on both sides regardless.

@That one lurker, closing the border is going to have zero impact on pandemic spread. Even if a caravan comes to border the number of cases in the US is so high it will have no impact and any that come to proper crossings can be quarantined. And he was outside with just his family not around anyone else where he didn't wear a mask for all of a few minutes. Congrats you caught him red handed, specifically ignoring all the other times he constantly wears a mask while in buildings which is the import place one should wear a mask

@That one lurker, and everything you just said about the vaccine demonstrates you have no idea about how it works or the science that goes into it. It doesn't rewire your DNA you idiot, its a packaged piece of mRNA that is translated in your cell by ribosomes to make a piece of protein that is present on the virus. Your body recognizes that piece as foreign and builds an immune response to it. mRNA is very unstable but the vaccine is built with packaging to protect it. After a few days that packaging breaks down and the vaccine rna is degraded leaving nothing changed in your body except your immune cells now recognize the covid spike protein. Please educate yourself before you become an antivaxxer
-
@That one lurker, A traditional vaccine works by injecting you with a weakened version of the virus - which then uses your cells to replicate itself so your immune system can learn to recognise it and respond. The Pfizer type work by using RNA to instruct some cells to produce the protein spike found on the virus, so your immune system can learn to recognise it and respond. It doesn’t rewrite your DNA or stop your body producing anything, and viruses don’t ‘feed on enzymes’. There are more traditional type vaccines out anyway. Over here (UK) the Pfizer vaccine is being administered in hospitals (because it needs to be stored at -70°) but the one developed by Oxford University is the old style and can be kept in a normal fridge so is being administered by doctors out in the community.

@jouze, read my comment again. Carefully. I do not say that one excuses the other. I am explaining, not condoning. Do you understand that when you shift what is acceptable, the other side will escalate it. Then it keeps repeating. Don’t like bad faith arguments? Don’t allow EITHER side to make them and get away with it.
-
@jouze, I guess we both understand somethings but have a fundamental lack of understanding on the other. I say this hoping you understand that my example was from the beginning of the pandemic. Where Biden called him racist for closing the borders. I hope you don't mean that closing the border had zero impact. Cause that was the conversation. Equally so, I don't care if he was alone are with his family. He signed an executive order, then he broke the executive order. Also, the executive order may break some states constitutions, since the courts had found that mask mandates are unconstitutional. So he makes a rule, breaks the rule, but he'll enforce the rule. Smells like tyranny to me... I'm not suggesting anything about this. To think, a man who lied, cheated and stole his way to the white house would commit suicide 3 weeks from now. Makes him a better president then Ben Franklin.
-
@eleven, agreed. And the Trump administration took a lot of heat from the left in Januaray and February last year for putting in preventative measures like travel bans from certain countries with the virus. Now, other than mandating masks be worn on federal property, the Biden administration has done nothing in addition to what the Trump administration has done. That says there is nothing more that can be done to prevent excessive spread.
-
@That one lurker, "we both understand some things but don't understand others" lmao how DNA and rna work is 8th grade cell biology my dude, and even the most cursory Google search would tell you your current understanding of how the virus works is completely off. So when it comes to policy dealing with a pandemic disease, which is in an issue in biology which you clearly have very little understanding of I suggest you stfu and let the experts and doctors make policy. "We need to live with the virus" my God that is the dumbest take I have seen on this app
-
@jouze, oh, no problem. I admitted where I was wrong and you can't face where you are. Mostly in the fact that I was talking about personally not trusting the vaccine. Where you extrapolated that into me being an anti-vaxer and trying to make policies shows your pride in illiteracy. Now answer the damnable question, if Trump isn't above the law, why should Biden be? He had a moment to show America what he's all about that night, and he showed it spectacularly. He makes the rules, and you fallow them.
-
@That one lurker, except Biden isn't above the law either. He made a law encouraging masks when inside federal property. Every time he is inside federal property he wears one, why are you focusing on the one singular time he doesn't wear a mask when he's outside? I don't wear my mask 100%of the time outside either the important part is when inside or around other people.you don't have contact with so I expect as much from him and so far he has followed that standard as well
-
@jouze, he just wrote the f@cking rule, not an hour ago. Also, something that was brought up to me that's funny. Indian reservations are federal property. So first few hours as president and he makes a law that explicitly targets a racial minority. In this targeting some states call it unconstitutional. So he made an unconstitutional mandate that targets explicitly a racial minority. Hyperbolic but funny coming from the guy that was cool with segregation and personal friends with klans men.
On a more serious note: littering isn’t cool y’all.
