Yeah. I only used vim in school. Right now I use atom with vim commands. I don't work at a Java shop. But I have a few friends that do. And I know they use eclipse. But yeah you don't really have to. But I don't think so far I've met a c# coder that doesn't use visual studio.

@Jayrock122, looks like he's doing asp. And I believe the only compilers for it are its ide. And it has so much stuff you pretty much have to have the boilerplate scaffolded

@Jayrock122, pretty much anyone that's not doing c# or Java doesn't use an ide(except jetbrains. They're cool)

@Evil Troy, I haven't used an IDE for java in years. I try not to use IDEs for anything. Im in college and the professors here tend to use the terminal with vim or nano or something and that's how they run our code too. I've had friends submit code they wrote on ides and they use some package that the ide uses and if screwed them over. So I tend to stay away. Also, I just really like vim
And after hours...no days...no weeks, you realized that it was a stupid comma in the wrong place that ruined your 150 lines of code
