I was just thinking about this. If you stick your arm in lava and it melts, is that technically a fourth degree burn?
@I Are Lebo, *stares*
*looks at ground*
*looks back up*
I think your right!
@I Are Lebo, well if it melts is that really a burn?
@Tentastic, a very bad burn. Burned to a crisp. Or in this case a goo
Howed he get close without burning?
@Cuactemoc4919, it could have been the cool top magma that has the chunks of rocks up top but flows below , found a pocket and back story time
@Cuactemoc4919, lava on the surface quickly forms a skin that stops it from radiating as much heat. It’s not like in cartoons where it flows like glowy molasses.
@I Are Lebo, ok cause i know the surrounding areas near lava are hot. Like really hot cause lava heats the surrounding area lol remeber watching documentary where they had the heat suits and used a long pole with a camera to record up close to the flowing lava.
@Cuactemoc4919, it’s all about the difference between flowing and standing. Like with water, the physics is affected by motion. Flowing lava can’t form a skin, so more of its heat is able to radiate outwards. That’s the situation where you would need a heat proof suit to avoid having your lungs get charred by the super heated air. You’d die from your lungs burning before you got close enough for your skin to burn, and your hair, clothes, and possibly skin would catch fire before you could make physical contact with the surface.
It hurts alot for a nano second and then all you nerves are incinerated and your brain cant process what your body is trying to tell it. Thats what i think anyway.
Does it really matter what it feels like? Does not knowing keep people up?
@werp zerp snickel, I literally wake up in the middle of almost every night in a panic induced cold sweat because I don't know how lava feels
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, Hawaii exists for a reason.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, the cold sweat is the lava calling you to come warm up.
Also he doesn't have a penis for some reason
I'm guessing all his nerve endings were fried instantly so he couldn't actually feel anything once his skin touched the lava.
He wondered so desperately what lava felt like he never realized he'd never get to feel it, which is why he pretends to know what if feels like and won't ever describe it, all so he doesn't feel stupid.
Ironically, he was stupid enough to stick his arm in the lava anyway.
Hot. It feels hot.
@x2 6x 9 lol, hey! Spoilers!
Dang, now he can’t climb the power pole to find out what high voltage electricity feels like
Gotta...hand...it to him, that's kind of a dick move.
It feels hot
Pretty sure it feels exactly like you think it would.
