Open minds save lives
I refuse to take part in this election because I can not, in all conscience, vote for either side.
But that's mostly because I'm not a US citizen, so it'd be electoral fraud.
Maybe if we could all realize not only that people have different views, but that people have experiences that formed those views, maybe we wouldn't hate each other so much
@UsedHat, I agree with your premise but the exact details of the statement are flawed. I would bet that 90% of people's experiences that they had were just people in their lives (like parents) telling them that the other side is wrong no matter what they say. Kind of like how people almost always follow the same religion as their parents but never look at it with any objectivity.
@A Studly Muffin, you're totally right, and I probably should have worded my statement differently, but I just would like to point out that every viewpoint has some reason behind it, whether that's what they were told going up or something that truly changed them
@A Studly Muffin, I call this the "team mentality" same for politics, religion, sports, etc. We are thought and conditioned to love "our team" and hate the "other team". If we stop and think about it for 10 seconds and use independent thought we have a different perspective. But very few people can do that. They surround themselves with like minded people and only seek to reinforce their own ideals.
@A Studly Muffin, I'm happy to be in the last 10%. My mom is a democrat and dad is a republican (extremish on both ends). My dad is a Roman Catholic and mom is agnostic. I'm happy to say I have objections to both but see much more reason in one side than the other.
@A Studly Muffin, most people are just parroting what they were taught as children, as a recent child who has learned to view things objectively and grown into a man with strong opinions and ideas I've spent a lot of time on, I've learned that people will still call you a fvcking cvnt for your beliefs, even if they aren't of the opposite team simply because it isn't theirs. Conclusion: people are stupid and are shjt. Also I'm deeply concerned that our country is owned and operated by people who can't/won't think critically.
You've reached the end of one of the biggest updates in FP history. Please exit to your left and don't let the political post hit you on the way out
@A Studly Muffin, am I on the wrong FP? There were no political posts before this
Or we could all agree to vote for Tarquin-Fim-Tim-Lim-Bim-Whim-Bim-Lim-Bus-Stop-F'tang-F'tang-Ole-Biscuitbarrel from the silly party.
I'm neither party, because I'm not retarded enough to vote for someone just because they're a dem or rep. I want which ever is better not whoever is in a certain party
Political parties make you hate people that you wouldn't otherwise and with all the mud slinging the hate is rarely even related to actual politics anymore.
It's really sad how true this is
.....Moonbat? That’s a new one.
Oof. This is why I’m Independent.
2 of my closest friends have different political beliefs than I do but we can have civil discussions about it but that may be because I tend to avoid over zealous people
But... Why do liberals hate freedom?
@RogueKnight, they don't? The two interlocutors are stereotyping one another.
I'll get it done whether you like it or not.
Except in this election it's the left that's full blown retard. I started out a left leaning centrist. Over the past 2 years, my opinion of the right has not changed at all. And nothing they have ever said or done has made me hate the left than what the left has said and done. Liberals need to grow the fück up, because when American conservatives are looking like the better choice, you've fücked up
Let's just all that the hippies are ruining it for all of us. Damn hippies!
@Dr Who Fandom, *lets all agree.... I need my morning coffee.
liberals aren't that bad I know a couple that don't piss me off.
