I’ve never been to a con, but I planned to go to either anime or comic con this year. Can I cosplay as Zuko ? Or Is it supposed to be only comic/anime characters.
@generic zombie, that’s the magic of cons... you can go as whatever you want, I’ve seen every kind of cosplay from pop culture(a lot of Deadpool around the movies release) to obscure, cult classic (MST3K) or original content. Whatever you want to go as, do it and have a blast
@generic zombie, Bro you can be anything you want. I wouldn't know from experience that it would probably be cool to get the occasional smile or glance from someone who gets your costume. But, you know, if you want to go as Zuko you're going to have to sacrifice your face.
@generic zombie, my favorite was a Harry Potter con where this guy was dressed up like ash Ketchum. He went to a bunch of the events and stuff. It was great. You can do whatever you want. That’s the point.
@generic zombie, just make sure your scar isn’t on the wrong side
@generic zombie, I’m actually going to a con this coming weekend (San Japan in San Antonio). Even though it’s an anime convention there’s still stuff for Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek, Supernatural, My Little Pony, and pretty much any fandom you can think of. That definitely includes Avatar.
Like others have said you can cosplay as whatever you want at any con you go to. This year I’ll be wearing my Snorlax kigurumi/onesie that I got when I was in Japan, and I’ll be putting pillows inside so I’ll look fat like Snorlax.
@generic zombie, I've been as the blue spirit a couple of times myself.
Low key I wanna try cosplaying sometime
@Prince super Vegeta , its honestly a lot of fun I started going to cons and cosplaying back in 2012. I love seeing people smile and ask for a picture when they see you dressed as their favorite character. You should definitely give it a try.
@BatmanAndDeadpool, I’ve been working towards a Hayama (from food wars)/ part 4 Jotaro physique these past few months, the effort’s paying off and I think I should be able to cosplay as them soon. Any recommendations for online shops for costumes?
@Prince super Vegeta , congrats on the hard work! Honestly though I hand make most of my costumes so I'm not sure. I'll occasionally buy stuff certain pieces I can't make (or am too lazy to make) off of Amazon. I've also heard etsy's good for costume parts as well.
