Broward County Sheriff, corruption, and why the government cannot protect you.
I’m not a very good musician but here we go:
ALL THE OTHER COPS,
WITH THE MILITARIZED WEAPONS,
BETTER RUN, BETTER RUN,
FASTER THAN THIER STUDENTS,
@liberachi , but... but... you’re a liberal. You’re in favor of more governmental control over all aspects of our life. How are you upset that they abuse their power?
the government that governs best, governs least.
@liberachi , which militarized weapons? Because your typical department is going to be using entirely civilian weapons. Typically you'll see popular service handguns like the Glock 19 or Sig Sauer P226, then an intermediate rifle like an AR-15 or Mini 14, a shotgun, usually either a Remington 870 or Mossberg 590 variant, and a long-range rifle, usually a Remington 700. Those are the sorts of weapons you can expect, with a few odds and ends like PCCs or SBRs in some departments.
And if you're referring to the AR-15, that rifle was designed for civilians and has never been used by any military anywhere at any time.
@Doctor Krieger, “the militarization of police refers to the use of military equipment and tactics by law enforcement [such as] personnel carriers, assault rifles, submachine guns, flashbang grenades, grenade launchers, sniper rifles, and [swat teams]”
Wikipedia is a useful tool to make yourself look like less of an idiot, don’t play willfully ignorant and use specific gun make and model terms at the same time, it’s a pretty dead give away.
@liberachi , I'm sorry, but when did your average police department use any of this? US police don't even use assault rifles or SMGs, and they strictly use grenade launchers for less-than-lethal options, usually with tear gas in crowd dispersal.
Also, you're insulting my intelligence when gormlessly citing Wikipedia as if it's a dictionary? You've proven in the past to not know your head from your ass when it comes to the topic at hand, yet you run your mouth anyways. Why? Do you think that if you repeat your bullshìt enough times, it will become true?
@Doctor Krieger, so I've also said the military never used them but online sources have confirmed that the AR-15 was actually used in Vietnam for a small percentage of soldiers to test it's usability.
@liberachi , hey Libby, how ya been? Long time no debate
@Medic135, first of all, I have existed since the morning of the world and I will excise until the last star falls from the sky, my name is liberachi
Also this if from like 6 months ago it just got promoted
Also I moved last month so I’ve been adjusting for a bit and to be honest I think they might have revoked my uploading privileges for a few weeks (either that or my dang phone broke again could be either)
@Medic135, don’t worry, I uploaded about 40 pics last night when I discovered I had privileges again
@liberachi , congrats on moving! And on your (white) uploading privileges
@Medic135, thank you! (iconic)
@big freedom, why do you have that many downvotes. You are right.
@liberachi , I'm not taking sides here, and I'm about to sound like a teacher, but if you want to prove your point in arguments, you may want to consider getting other sources too. And wiki, though usually accurate, can't always be trusted.
@NameyMcNameFace, Because Lib was making a joke and Freefree was acting like Libby couldn't make the joke because of his ideologies.
"We can't afford to give out food stamps."
"We should cut Medicare and Medicaid."
"Poor people are cannibalizing our tax dollars."
WTF xD that car wouldn't even be used in a police chase... Police chases cause tons of damage to patrol cars yearly, did they think they can afford to chase people in a lambo?? I hope this is fake.
@Mhael, it’s not fake... sadly..
@Mhael, I imagine that they seized it from a drug dealer. If they purchased it with tax dollars... fûck them all very much.
If they seized it in civil forfeiture, fûck them all very much.
They didn’t sell it at auction? Fûck them all very much.
@Mhael, they didn't buy it. It was rented and wrapped for a toy drive for charity.
@WelI Obviously, if that's the case then it's different I guess. Picture is missing tons of context though, all we see is a buncha officers with a lambo
@Mhael, which is why you go use them there fancy interwebs to get the whole story 👍
@WelI Obviously, too much work. Much easier to make assumptions and look like a jackass :3
@Mhael, lol! Your wittiness and ability to admit when you were wrong has earned the removal of my downvote! However I shal not change it to a full upvote to remind you of the facebooky thing you have done
@Mhael, “we have 17 overlapping and redundant programs to feed the poor. Most of the money is wasted in bureaucracy.”
The poor in America are the richest 15% on earth. The lower class is the fastest shrinking population in US.
We have plenty of money to do every single program you would ever want to fund to take care of the poor... most of it goes to cronies who buy their legislators. Quit voting for anyone in the 2 major parties.
@big freedom, preach man
@Mhael, the police are every bit as abusive and self-serving as any other public sector institution. Education, infrastructure, the military, you name it. All corrupt. All focused on milking more out of the taxpayer. It's not only allowed by the system, it's incentivized. This is one of the many follies of public institutions, the state cannot allocate resources efficiently and has no responsibility placed on it when it ultimately allows these abuses to happen.
@Mhael, I see a lot of comments on this and am at work so don’t have time to read them all so this may have already been stated. They police department rented this car for $10 from the dealer to be used in a toy drive.
@Mhael, missing context and something that sounds a little off, would make me automatically question what I saw
@Medic135, big oof
8 months... the
ant thing in comedy?
How’d they afford that? Oh wait Broward County. Probably got it from all the drug money they had in evidence.
Ok what dipshjt put “Being Libertarian” In this pic? A genuine libertarian would rip out their own hair thinking about how much money was stolen from tax payers to buy that hunk of junk.
@BennMann, it’s from a libertarian page. Making fun of Broward County.
Gotta outrun those bullets
As a Broward resident, I recognize that building they're in front off as my elementary school Coral Park Elementary.
