Make it illegal to be a criminal.
@payton manning, big brain time
@x2 6x 9 lol, with a forehead like his it’s always big brain time
@payton manning, what if we used 100% of our brain?
@x2 6x 9 lol, my god, what a brilliant idea. Why didn’t I think of that.
Meanwhile, in California
@Sir Borksalot , and/or Chicago
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, and Walmart
Guns are illegal in Mexico. Guess who is the only one that has them.
@x2 6x 9 lol, Mexicans?
@ImNotRacistBut, well yes, but...
@x2 6x 9 lol, guns are not illegal in mexico. Check your facts.
@occasionalmutant, they have extremely restrictive regulations though. It takes months of paperwork for a citizen to have a chance of purchasing one. And most caliberes and types are reserved for the military, and police.... didnt stop the drug lords from purchasing a 50 cal machine gun and taking over a city when the police arrested the son of one of the king pins.
@occasionalmutant, they are extremely restricted then. Either way. The point is that it doesn’t stop crime. Despite their gun restrictions they have some of the highest murder rates.
@x2 6x 9 lol, guns aren't the driver of that crime. US demand for illegal drugs provides the huge money train for the cartels. The focus on gun laws is the wrong focus - the problem is American-fueled drug demand. Australia outlawed all guns, with huge decrease in gun violence. New Zealand eliminated assault style weapons, kept most other weapons, no drug lord murder sprees there. You can't cherry pick your examples
@occasionalmutant, I never said anything about guns causing crime. Straw man attempt failed.
@x2 6x 9 lol, wow. You should read your first reply to me. "The point is, it doesn't stop crime."
Fvckers walk right through the state of Utah
@VibratingButtChomper, this is backward Utah
@Rowsdower, no hatU is backwards Utah.
@VibratingButtChomper, I’m from Utah and I promise that people are definitely better off just walking right on through. Don’t stop, nothing to see here, just keep going
@NotFlat, that’s what I tell all the Californians trying to move here
because we should continue to to do nothing instead of making it as hard as possible for these people to get dangerous weapons you know guns on the black market are far more expensive thus restricting them to higher income criminals who have better things to do than go out and shoot up a random store or school
@eleven, that’s not how any of this works. Your opinion, though entertaining, is invalid.
@big freedom, to be honest, the simplest way to stop organized crime is to make it not lucrative. In other words, take steps that make their means of making money crumble. The regulations on guns alone won’t do that, and yes, criminals can still get guns. But what is the biggest illegal businesses? Trafficking and drugs.
For trafficking, it’s a case of improving the border security including upgrading checkpoints, new tech, and more thorough searching.
For drugs? Legalizing and regulating them. The biggest thing they have is there’s no legal way to obtain these drugs in many cases. Add a legal way, and it’s essentially turning their drug trade legal and force it to be competitive. They can’t sell at the high prices they did.
@Cloverleaf, completely agree.
There’s another factor as well. Too many regulations make people more willing to ignore laws. We have too many laws to even count. People now pick and choose which ones they agree with, including our elected officials and police forces.
@big freedom, I mean there are a few in local and state level that are too stupid to enforce. Like technically in Iowa I believe it’s illegal for a guy with a mustache to publicly kiss a woman.
@Cloverleaf, the CBO (congressional budget office) attempted to count the number of federal regulations. They were not able to even come close. There are literally too many federal laws to count.
Not to take away from the message of this picture, but I believe the assault weapons ban has expired, and wasn't renewed.
@PsychedelicCow, this is talking about all the current proposals by politicians and the expected result.
@BigJohnson86, ah, I thought this was about what already exists, I get the expected result part
@PsychedelicCow, most of these exist in some form at local levels and the feds pretty much ruled anything south of a machine gun is up to the states
@PsychedelicCow, although the national assault weapons ban expired there are still several states with their own bans in place.
Guns are bad
@benderama, where is that cone?
@ORGANIC, careful, if you get to close to him you’re obligated to wipe the drool from his face.
@benderama, and you’re an idiot
@benderama, i wouldve thought it was a troll joke if it wasnt you benderama.
Semantically similar statement to yours
Damn i guess we should legalise all drugs and murder and rape and fraud since laws are meaningless to criminals and won’t stop them
I never really get the point of these. Or rather, I think I do, but I find it laughable. Having fewer and less dangerous weapons available means you have fewer and less dangerous armed criminals. Having self-selected, untrained persons without the privileges and organization of a police force carry guns is not a valid method of stopping them.
The only reasoning I can sorta respect for lack of gun control is to be able to threaten revolution, but that doesn’t seem to be a good way to go about it in a modern US.
@Ewok612, taking weapons out of civilian hands just makes it easier for criminals to prey on them who are willing to get them. Guns are the ultimate equalizer any man can defend himself from any other man with reasonable chance of success as long as he has a gun. Most of these proposed bans will do nothing to stop the majority of gun deaths in america.
@Ewok612, having fewer weapons puts the dangerous weapons ONLY in the hands of the criminals. I don’t ask you to defend anyone else, but I ask you to not stop me from defending myself and my family, and you if you’re being attacked.
@big freedom, your argument is retarded
Pot meet kettle
There was a shooting at wal mart in my state yesterday. I just saw it on a news thing. I didn’t really check I just called my people. My mom can’t walk much after her accident last year. It just scares me to think of who gets away and who doesn’t.
