@Sexy Homunculus, I hope so too. I think a vast number of Americans whether they be Red or Blue, feel so marginalized and angry that they see the other side as obstacles instead of their neighbors, family and friends. I honestly do believe that Biden will make a genuine effort to fight for us all, regardless of who we voted for. We are currently at war, unfortunately many of use see other Americans as the enemy. I am hopeful that this is going to change.

@Nellybert , in a nutshell he wants to outright ban the sale of "assault weapons", which to them basically means nearly any semi-auto firearm, as well as magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. For the ones that people already own he wants people either to surrender them to the government through a buyback program (which will basically give back pennies to the dollar), or force owners to register each item with the NFA. Currently for items that need to be registered under the NFA (such as suppressors and short barreled rifles) it's a lengthy process and involves a $200 tax, so current owners would have to pay $200 for every gun and magazine they already own. Basically punishing the law abiding while doing nothing to punish criminals.
-
@Nellybert , To add on to MrJojo, it would be $200 for each offending item. Also, some states, such as California, have outright banned the ownership of NFA items, which would make millions of Californians into felons overnight. On top of all this, he also wants to ban the online sale of firearms, ammunition, kits, and parts. Parts of firearms include things such as a trigger or a spring. (You already need to have a firearm shipped to a licensed dealer and have a background check performed if you’re buying a firearm online)
-
@MrJojo, Yeah, none of that is going to happen - I’m certain that there is literally no way any of that would get through either of the Houses. I could see it being potentially possible to put forward a ‘gun registration’ idea if it was like a fiver to submit a form that just said something like “this makes/model, this serial number” and you could list them all on there (and then when you buy/sell a gun just log on and add/remove it) But I’m pretty sure it would end up as something waaaaay more complicated and impracticable, so would never get through even if you didn’t have the NRA etc campaigning against it.

@Sexy Homunculus, except his speech is pure bs. He just spent the entire campaign demonizing Trump and everybody who supported him, then he wants to play nice? Also, as he gave that speech on "unity" you had people like AOC and several high profile democrats and reporters (same thing) saying they want to make lists of people that supported Trump, and to make them pay for the last 4 years. If there was ever a speech that was simply taken off generic politicianspeech.com, it was what Biden said. But its not true by a Longshot if you look at what everybody around him is saying and what he said before election night.
-
@Sexy Homunculus, The way this election turned out couldn't be more perfect. The only political side that changed was the presidency, so government is balanced. Hopefully the voter fraud isn't as rooted as some Republicans believe. If it is, then we have some bad news... I wonder what the media would say given they already posted Biden won.
-
@Sexy Homunculus, idk man, hopefully in 4 years I'm gonna eat the words I'm about to say, but I think he is gonna try and take a hard turn for left field but I doubt he is gonna get far. That is if Harris doesn't try to have him declared unfit for office, cause at least from what I've seen he has been going downhill mentally pretty bad lately. Like I said I hope I am proven wrong on how this is gonna play out but only time will tell.
-
@Nellybert , there are already several states that require registration of some types of firearms, like here in Michigan all handguns made after a certain date (i believe 1968 when they started putting serial numbers on them) must be registered, and other states do things differently, some don't require registration at all, and I believe some require any firearm to be registered. I personally don't like the idea of gun registration because other than proof of ownership if it is stolen (you're likely never gonna see it again anyway) the only purpose it serves is if the government plans to take them away from the law abiding citizens.
-
@Sexy Homunculus, I kinda disagree, his speech was mostly false promises and empty platitudes. And since when has the left ever been about unity when most of the time they excise anyone and everyone that disagrees with them even slightly. Wouldn't surprise me if he stole that speech off of a much better leader like he has multiple times. I want to like Biden but he has a horrible track record and will either just bend to the will of the far left or do absolutely nothing. He also had his son Hunter there who is currently under investigation by the FBI for his laptop scandal.. It's too slimy for me.
-
@LilPuppyOfDOOM , that’s funny cause when I said the same thing to a racist black guy he told me I don’t know what I’m talking about he’s not my president cause he didn’t vote for him I had no idea that if u didn’t vote for the guy that got elected u don’t have to obey his laws I’m so glad I learned that
-
@Hoopscallion, Kamala Harris “I’ll give congress 100 days, if they don’t I’ll cream executive order” Beto O’Rourk “hell yes, we’re coming for your AR-15, your AK-47” Joe Biden “there is no reason to own a machine gun, you don’t need an AR-14” So, you’re either lying, misinformed, or just idiotic to say that “it’s just a Republican talking point”.
-
@bobbylupo, georgia and pennsylvania have been swing states for a long time, and liberals were roughly 4x more likely to mail in their ballots than conservatives state-to-state. when you realize that by legal mandate neither georgia nor penn were allowed to touch mail-ins till the 3rd, its REALLY not shocking that mail-ins took a lot longer to be counted than reg votes. no part of this is hard to believe. trump lost in those swing states edit: if a fair inquiry based on sufficient proof proves me wrong, so be it. but dont chomp into this conspiracy-theory BS without real evidence to refute a not-really-unlikely event
-
@YourProudFather, I see him as nothing more than a puppet to be controlled, and a trojan horse for Harris (who had an abysmal approval rating when she was running by the way due to her far left views) to become president once he inevitably either dies or is deemed mentally unfit to be president. For the sake of this country I sure hope Biden has somebody competent checking his food.
-
@YourProudFather, all the uneducated people over here voted for Biden because they've never heard of Venezuela and don't realize we've been in a slow decline into socialism since FDR's New Deal. They get their news from Facebook and think they're political activists. When I was their age I was getting pussy not bashing the current president
-
@dj evolve fan club, if you look at the voting percentage from any side it is the non college educated that voted for trump percentage wise (i.e. highschool or less) and college grads voted for biden. I can post many, many polls from left and right even from OAN and FOX but since you made the claim I want you to first post a site claiming that trump gets more of the educated vote. you sound pretty young dj... also maybe a highschool graduate but not much more. I doubt you've taken basic political sciences or economics. not trying to be accusatory just really doesnt seem like it from your comments. thanks for the upvote earlier when I called you salty btw.

@microman, well I'm working for my family business in rendering and fertilizer, but I'm working on my masters in applied economics and finance. So I'd say I have leg up on knowing economics and politics that effect the economy compared to someone that is likely doing admin work at a hospital. What's your position? Medical clinician can mean a lot of different things. Also why should I believe you? You already said you believe I'm educated but from what you have said I'm not so sure about you. :)
-
@Runnin with scissors, lol so you work for your parents and are not even graduated with a degree that has nothing to do with law, which is what you typically take to be formally educated in politics...nice 👌 Im a 1st year resident MD in dermatology. So in other words I'm a doctor. I dont usually state my position because I dont like using the "call to authority" way of arguing because I don't believe a degree makes your more educated than other people in everything. Anyway, throughout my rotations and working I would say about 80% of the doctors I've talked to are trump supporters and the other 20% were not biden fans. Thats from a pool of about 30 practitioners. So I find it funny that you think only uneducated people vote for trump. Ask your doctor next time you go, you may be surprised.
-
@microman, I do have a degree in business management in economics its required to have an undergraduate degree to enter a masters program... you should know that IF you are a doctor... Politics are part of economics we study a lot of finance and tax law. Basic voting statistics show a trend of trump supporters being uneducated (meaning no college). Your pool that you pull from is likely bias based on where you live or choose to ask and isnt random. I NEVER SAID ONLY just the make up of supporters for trump are typically less educated than the makeup of biden. If you ARE a doctor you know the importance of randomizing results from a study to make any kind of claim. Maybe look up how to do a regression linear or otherwise of a data set thats randomized data set cause that's where the fox, MSNBC, NPR, and any other credible source you can find does meaning they are less biased that your individual non random study. Also what's wrong working for your family while you're in school?
-
@microman, also you getting all high saying you don't use you profession as authority is pretty ridiculous seeing as you were the one first state: "I'm a medical clinician. What are you?" Like that gives you some value. Isnt that what you just said you dont do or is getting specific your issue? Cause my masters is more specific too. (fox and MSNBC arent credible themselves but they often pull data from .Gov and .edu sources because those typically are research locations)
-
@Runnin with scissors, wow, you literally have no critical reading skills. Go read back our messages in order and see how you were the first one to call to authority. I simply dropped down to your level which was a mistake because you're obviously very upset and out for a fight. You have an inferiority complex and unfortunately I cannot help you with that. Have a good day and consider getting help for yourself. This conversation doesn't matter but you being angry and insecure all the time does. Good luck
-
@microman, kinda pathetic how you just leave because you don't have anything to say. You didnt even try to go against anything I said above that comment. I'm not out for a fight I just was trying to correct your ignorance. :) have a wonderful day. If you decide to respond with anything other than "I MIGHT BE A DOCTOR SO LISTEN TO ME!" Let me know.
-
@Runnin with scissors, the comment before I said what I said you were making an argument to authority by mentioning how more college educated people with college degrees voted for biden implying with the heavy implication that having a degree would mean they were more rational voters. Since you were talking with that implication I decided to make a comment that calls you out as someone who has education and then is condescending. Then when you responded to me I mentioned how educated I am so, which essentially pointed out how silly your reasoning is of college educated vs not, because here I am voting for trump as a highly educated person. Then the overall point was that you can't judge people by there education because very smart people aren't always formally educated. Anyway, check this out https://youtu.be/Ztu5Y5obWPk
-
@microman, I never claimed to be educated it's actually just a polling statistic based on registered voters. It's a trend it doesnt mean every voter that has a college degree voted for trump but there is a statistically significant beta related to the effect of education on voting Democrat or in this case biden. no where did I claim or imply they are more rational. Republicans get mostly non college educated people. I seriously am questioning your education as you dont know these basic things that are even taught in undergrad. I never claimed smart people vote for one candidate as that's a difficult metric to predict but on average if you've gone to college you vote biden. You are you. But if you take a poll of the entire US democrats tend to go to college more than republicans because a large majority of Republicans are rural workers or blue collar. I won't watch your youtube nonsense but if you care to provide a reputable source I'm game.
-
@Runnin with scissors, download or rent the dsm 5 and look up personality disorders. Theyre separated into mad bad and sad. Im sure if you read them they'll resonate with you. Pay special attention to bipolar and narcissistic. You can question me all you want, not really a point but ok lol...I dont know what to tell you. Your points don't make sense but I dont have time for this anymore. Just look them up, good luck friend
I didn't vote for Biden, but honestly I really liked his speech last night. Felt like the kind of thing we all need to hear right now. Hopefully his administration really will try to bridge the gap and not swing too far left.
