@the guy with one job, eh.. I don't think Putin, the guy who went to Syria under the pretext of getting rid of ISIS only to then further help the Syrian President in his quest to kill more of his own people than a genocide would, I don't think that's the guy anyone would or should willingly work with. What if he starts bombing refugees. Then we're gonna look like we're supporting it because we accepted his 'help'. This is why I'm glad the common people don't run the government and mostly Harvard educated people do, even if they have their head stuck up their ass 90% of the time.
-
@talmet, so you mean to tell me that because he hasn't responded to 90% of the problems in this country means that he's a shît bag that isn't going to help the nation with anything? He's the fücking president of the United States, he's got a lot of shït to deal with and he can't get to it all at once
-
@BunnyGruff, man people really don't understand modern Russia do they? They aren't the communist nation they used to be, matter of fact Putin has actually done pretty well for the nation, especially dealing with their dying economy. They are trying to rid themselves of the warlike-hate everyone image that was given to them from communism. They've tried to reform for a while, but people are to stubborn to accept that they are attempting to change and get better. They also have a lot of problems of their own that have slowed this process for years now. I mentioned the economy is practically non-existent, but 80% of that government is so corrupt and clearing that is hard to do.
-
@Can yew knot, actually pretty much the first thing he did was come in and bomb the rebels, ie. The people fighting ISIS from the very beginning, whose flanks include Americans fighting on the front lines, not soldiers but people who choose to fight ISIS because they knew they needed to be stopped long before Paris happened. It wasn't until ISIS took down a Russian jet that Russia actually became serious.
-
@BunnyGruff, Putin believes that if ISIS is defeated in Syria, then Syria will need a government that is able and willing to standup and stop ISIS from trying to move back in. He thinks that government might as well be Assad. Is Assad a nice guy? No. But, as Putin said at the UN, governments had to deal with people they didn't like to get rid of Hitler in WW2. So, he's willing to work with Assad to stop ISIS. Our government assumed that Putin was going into Syria to stop Assad and ISIS. Putin never made that claim, he was very clear at the UN. He said that in his opinion, a stable Syria without Assad is impossible.
-
@the guy with one job, So, you need to have priorities. Either he is purposely ignoring Putin's request, as a way to refuse without having to actually refuse. Or, ISIS is not a priority for Obama. One or the other must be true. Both are bad. And yes, Obama is the president. Also, in my opinion he is a crap president, who will go down in history as one of the most divisive, and ineffectual presidents in our history.
-
@talmet, I hate people like you, so focused on the current problems without realizing how much better things have gotten. Yes, the US is still in Shït thanks to bush, but it's gotten so much better. Obamas done a pretty good job cleaning up the nation, even though it's not perfect yet, because one man can't perfect a global super power in 8 years, but it's because of the mess the nation was in prior to Obama that gave him such a bad wrap. Yes our country was suffering during his run time, but not do to his actions, it's due to the actions of those before him. Don't get me wrong I'm not a great fan either, but he's not even close to some of the actual worst presidents we have had before
-
@the guy with one job, I completely agree with you in terms of Obama, but not Putin. You've got to be joking when you say Putin is trying to rid the militaristic Russia that was. He INVADED the Ukraine. That's an incredibly militaristic thing to do. Russia WAS getting better, until Putin decided to go and invade the Ukraine and send his troops to the Western border. Then Obama put sanctions on his stupid ass and NOW the Russian economy is crippled. You can quite literally see a jump in the line graph of the ruble and clearly see a before and after of the sanctions. Before sanctions Russia was doing not too good but not too bad, but after sanctions, Putin will led them to ruin.
-
@talmet, YEA they do need a government after ISIS is defeated, but could you not blindly swallow Putins propaganda. ISIS was created in part BY ASSAD. He wanted to make the rebels, the people who were TRYING to make a government to replace Assad with, a DEMOCRATIC government, Assad wanted to make them look like terrorists so he released all the terrorists from Syrian prisons. You want the guy who helped CREATE ISIS and also murder tens of thousands of children to run Syria instead of the people (rebels) who were actually trying to create a government in Syria and we're BEGGING for us to help, and we didn't and now they're almost all DEAD. Assad is not the answer. Don't support something until you know every last detail about it.
-
@the guy with one job, you hate people like me who hold the current president responsible almost 7 years into his administration? When will it become Obama's responsibility? Can the next president blame Obama for everything that happens in their administration? Or will that still be Bush's fault? What about the president after that? In 50 years will it still be Bush's fault? Obama has been president for 7 years. It is his responsibility. The economy is crap (Gallup says we are only at 45% fully employed, which they consider working 30 hours a week. Only 45% of Americans have a job where they work 30 hours. Also, the median income has fallen to 31,000 a year. This is not a recovery. As a percentage, there are more people living on handouts now, than during the Great Depression...) Foreign policy is in shambles, ISIS and Russia on the rise. Terrorism spreading. Bad bad things...Iran just got a 150 billion dollar payday... Race tensions are at a height not seen since the 60s....
-
@talmet, man oh man are you a quick to judge moron. I never said that every issue the nation has from here on out is bush's fault, but man did he leave the next 2-4 presidents with a messy country. You need to learn to understand what someone is saying and not take these irrationally large jumps to extremely obscure assumptions
-
@the guy with one job, what? You said it isn't Obama's fault, because Bush left the country with so many problems. Ok, so what has Obama fixed? What has he even made better? The unemployment number is down, but the number of people fully employed is down. Has he made race relations better? Foreign policy better? What is something that Obama has succeeded in doing? Healthcare? Where exchanges across the county are failing, enrollment numbers are down so much that major insurers are talking about walking away from Obamacare, because they would have to charge prohibitively high premiums to cover the few people who actually have signed up.
-
@talmet, cool you successfully named one thing he actually did wrong, and in reality, isn't directly under his control, unemployment (but sense you're a stubborn person who refuses to read exactly what I said, I must mention that I am well aware that it was in his fault as well, but not to an extreme) also, I'm not sure if you are aware of the stimulus which signed $780 billion to American recovery/reinvestment which spurred economic growth and slowly stopped (has not completely ended yet) the greatest recession since the Great Depression. This was in '08 or '09 I believe. Also, we aren't at war with Iraq anymore. Happened in 2011, so that's a plus, unless of course bringing home thousands of soldiers and reuniting them with their families isn't something good to you. He, as the head commander of the US army, brought down Osama bin laden. That's always nice. Completely turned around American automotive industry, and along with that added 100,000 jobs from auto industries growth.
-
@talmet, he also aided the efforts to bring down Moammar Gaddadi. He also placed about $4.5 billion into state governments for educational reform. More education sounds like a good thing to me, no? Forced new fuel efficiency standards to make the fuel economy somewhat near double in the next 9 years, assuming future presidents do not remove this. Also the extremely increased sanctions on Iran were his doing, and I don't have enough text in these comments to explain what that is, so I hope you know. He also improved the FDA by funding 1.4 billion to it to have it grow and expand its responsibilities. There's still plenty more but they are somewhat minor, and I'm tired of typing.
-
@the guy with one job, how did the stimulus help the economy? Even Obama said that the "Shovel ready jobs weren't as shovel ready as we thought." The recession hasn't slowed. Workforce participation continues to fall, and many economists are predicting another huge dip in the next year or so. We aren't at war in Iraq...correct, now ISIS runs the place...that isn't an improvement. He did nothing but give the OK for the mission to take down Osama. The American auto industry has been purchased by foreign companies. He brought down Mommar Gaddafi...and now Lybia is one of main areas of terrorism. Good job on Benghazi. 4.5 billion in state education. When did he do that? He requested it in 2012, but didn't even get Democrat congressmen's support. Increased fuel standards actually increase deaths. As the cheapest way to increase a cars mpg is to make the car lighter, which means crashes are more deadly.
-
@the guy with one job, ...increased sanctions on Iran?!?!? Uh, no. Sanctions were removed. And according to the IEAE, Iran has already cheated. There very first inspection was of a nuclear facility which had been emptied of all equipment and machinery the day before the inspectors arrived. We also gave them 150 billion dollars, and per the deal we agreed to defend their nuclear facilities from attack...though you obviously don't know what you're talking about. No, I'm not from the South. I'm from California. I have a masters in Applied Mathematics, a PhD in high energy particle physics, and am a college professor. But way to be prejudiced...gotta love liberals and their discrimination against anyone they don't like.
-
@the guy with one job, Just to be clear. I've never insulted you, but you insult me in almost every post. So good job on showing your maturity, and being able to have a civil discussion with someone you disagree with. "I think this" "Well, I think that" "I hate people like you" "What?" "You're a moron, how can. You disagree with me. My mommy told me I'm special." "...." "Oh, you must be from the South and an idiot."
-
@Chuck Fvcking Norris, Putin is they guy that's gonna do the popular things, explaining his like over 90% approval rating, but the popular thing is almost never the right thing. And he's going to drive his country into the ground. Or well he already has, but even more so. Right now we've crippled their entire nation just through sanctions. Just letting them know, doesn't matter how advanced you think your military is, we'll send you into ruin long before anyone even fires a bullet.
-
@dirty wallnut, by Russia, I mean it's population. The Russians. Who are doing their best to hide their pain because they're Russians when they lost half their savings just by currency losing value and then the rest because everything is twice as expensive. Russia is on the path to hyperinflation. They're spending money they don't have. And they can't get loans to cover them. Russia is edging towards collapse while Europe has found another reason to look into renewable energy. That sounds like a win win to me.
-
@BunnyGruff, it's not really a win win because Russia has close financial ties with China. Russia falls, China will suffer, rest of the world follows. The world economics are too closely intertwined to consider that a win in any way. And no that's not hyperinflation, it's just regular inflation, which we also have here in America. We are spending way more than we have too, so does that edge us to a collapse too? Europe has not really found another reason to look into renewable energy, because the gas pipelines will be built through a different country and that country will still sell Russia's gas at its own higher price, sort of a middle man. My personal opinion is that our president didn't take the right choice. Instead of bluntly forcing Russia into political information war he should have allied it, and then manipulated/pressured it into complying with us. That would have been a win win. But like I said that's my opinion.
-
@KaijuKoitus, sadly he didn't actually say that at all. Some news anchor in Russia referenced the quote while talking about ISIS and Putin. Someone on social media then misinterpreted it, believing it to have been said by Putin. From there you can probably infer how the rumor would spread. One thing he actually has said in regards to terrorists is "We will soak them in the toilet, pardon my language."
Vladimir ain't Putin up with this shjt no more
