Does anyone know why many anime/Japanese video games seem to view "demons/demon Lord's/the devil" in a more positive light than western media? I just see a lot of references to "being a demon" or "acting like a demon" and that's seem as a complement (almost as if it means your very passionate about something) in these shows and games whereas here (US) that would mean you are evil or out of control.

@Frodrevo, well first off religion wise they belive in shinto Buddhism and not Christianity so whereas to the abrahimic religions demons are evil to them its more of a grey ground since remember some of their gods in their shrines could be sealed demons contracted to protect the area they also seal them and use as familiars not sure if it helps but thats what I'm aware off

@OmegaExceed, thanks for the explanation that makes sense. I just have been noticing that demons are depicted more in a good light. This is especially true in persona 5 where [SPOILER WARNING SPOILER] you essentially become the devil to kill God
