So I have my concealed carry here in NY, but I care less about that than the assault rifle laws. I know it's a weird opinion, but I care less about self defense than I do about the masses defending from their government
@ThePandaPool , Whod you have to give a hand job to to get a full carry in NY?
@A Deformed Penis, dude. Dutchess county is great for it. They run you through the process pretty quick too. Only like 9 months instead of over a year like the rest of the state.
@ThePandaPool , 9 months is ridiculous. It took me 1 month, and my mother 10. Here's the funniest sh!t thou. It only took them that long cause she used to work in tomato packing 60 years ago. She got litaly no finger prints and still NY takes longer?!?
@ThePandaPool , I'd like a harrier jet and aircraft carrier then! Otherwise we're not defending ourselves from any damn government, just giving ourselves the illusion of security
@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, if you’ve got billions of dollars that’s an option
@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, tell that to the vietnamese.
@ThePandaPool , if you think we have the survival skills and determination of the vietcong, you clearly haven't seen Americans on black Friday haha like I said man, we're not defending ourselves from the government if they put their foot down. The second amendment made sense when the difference was discipline, not an overwhelming disparity in technology and information. Even if I had a proper assault rifle and the training to use it, I can't shoot a b2 out of the sky with it lol
@BigJohnson86, so we go to Elon for our private military services?
@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, maybe you dont have the determination and training, but we aren't all you. Also if things are that bad, parts of the military would likely defect. It's not cut and dry. Also, it's called a deterrent. You dont always need to be strong enough to win, just be strong enough for it not to be worth the fight.
@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, oh jesus christ... that elon comment is even more terrifying than the government turning on the people...
@ThePandaPool , yeah but most people aren't willing to fight anything lol like I said man, you can believe whatever you want but an assault rifle only deters a common criminal, not the might of the most powerful and relatively overwhelming military in human history
@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, I’d go to bezos. He seems more ready for world domination
@BigJohnson86, is he hiring henchmen yet?
@ThePandaPool , probably. He already got Captain Kirk and tried to get Forrest Gump but got turned down.
Every gun law is an infringement. Pass it on
@Lord Cthulhu, the NRA is the second branch of the ATF
@Guy Fawkes, the NRA is great because they catch all the heat while actual gun rights groups get stuff done
Most counties in California you can get a ccw. Even LA county is having to make it easier to get one. It’s actually easy but costs a few hundred and takes time. Renew every 2 years. Just please be competent and proficient with your weapon.
@troubled panda, yeah right. "It takes time". 3 years later.
@troubled panda, I'm with you on requiring competency to handle firearms. This will sound controversial but I think a firearm permit is/should be the same as a drivers license, you can get one and drive a car as long as you take a proficiency test to prove you can handle it. I personally have no need for a gun but if you do then by all means get one.
@AJMalone, theres not an amendment that guarantees ones ability to drive a car. The permit requirement is a direct violation of your second amendment right. When gun culture is normalized and respected its a healthier enviroment to learn proper handling as a normal skill rather than somwthing you go and pay to learn. Your parents should teach you the fundamentals of life and i think gun safety and training should be apart of that. And i dont mean making your children marksmen or anything, but the ability to hit a human sized target from respectable self defense ranges
@Captain Rumble, my county is putting them through at 6 months. Even when I started my app was when covid first hit. Took almost a year.
@AJMalone, we had to pass a shooting test but honestly anyone could pass it. But there were people there who got confused what ammo was for what pistol and that’s not good
@troubled panda, you lost me with renew every 2 years...
@ThePandaPool , i know it’s annoying but yes. Renew every 2 years.
@troubled panda, that is most definitely over excessive.
Had constitutional carry in oklahoma for a year now already haha
Bottom right should be Florida
@Man with a Cat, wait... It is, isn't it?
@mas2de, I don’t know anymore, I live in Florida and people say I’m in a safe town, but when I compare our crime rate to larger scarier cities we are way worse.
@Man with a Cat, yeah there are so many weird idiosyncrasies with local, state and federal reporting and processing of the raw data to get useful metrics out on top of certain local reporting companies either not wanting to report things for political reasons or being pressured by politicians to not report things at a local or state level and it never makes enough fuss to become national news. So some places skate by with bad crime rates and denialism.
3d printer goes burrr
@TheTrueCorreia, what is the cheapest 3d printer that can print with composite though?
@ThePandaPool , probably an Ender 3 with some mods. Not too shabby for $200
@TheTrueCorreia, nah. I have some so I Already looked into that. Would need a complete overhaul to handle the heat needed for composite quality enough for a receiver.
@ThePandaPool , not really, you can print abs pretty much out of the box. More fancy parts the better, especially with carbon fiber, but its doable.
@TheTrueCorreia, there is a huge difference between abs and composite. An abs receiver would disintegrate.
@ThePandaPool , after a few rounds, but better than nothing
@TheTrueCorreia, uhhh... sure it is..
It’s not about stopping them from acquiring them it’s about making it as difficult as possible but no let’s keep disregarding solutions because it doesn’t have a 100 success rate. You know the same way murder being illegal has never stopped anyone but nobody is arguing the legalization of murder.
@eleven, thats a fair point. but guns have saved more lives than theyve taken. So lets come up with some solutions that dont cripple the lawful citizens thats have a constitutional right to stay lethal and we can talk about the success rates after that part
im also 100 percent for the public murder of pedophiles being legalized so long as there has been irrefutable evidence but i dont know if that qualifies as legalization
@eleven, gun control has gone up. So have mass shootings. Crime over all is much higher in strict gun control states. If something doesn’t work that’s one thing. When it has the opposite effect it’s entirely another.
I could go on a tirade about how there are far more, every day things, that should be regulated at least as much as guns but probably more. Though, I think that’d be a waste of energy.
People are always so quick to give up the rights of others because they’re too naive to learn something.
@JoeJoestar, correlation isn’t causation also when was the last time you heard of a school shooting from Australia.
@Guy Fawkes, unfortunately due to the nature of firearms being point to kill that’s probably not possible. However I am not going to say that gun owners should give up their firearms as that would be moronic. What I will say is that gun especially assault weapons should be far far harder to acquire for the psychopaths of the world. Not just background checks for you but for all those you’ll be living with. For new steps you and everyone you live with should require a psychological evaluation from psychologists trained to root out psychopaths and those with vicious intentions. These restrictions should also apply to online amateur gun sales no unregulated markets for murder buttons. Will this solve everything no far from it but it’s better than sitting around waiting for a 100% solution that by definition cannot exist.
@eleven, There is zero evidence that Gun Control does anything other than disarm law abiding citizens, and even make the choice of weapon change so they can still kill (Thinking of the other countries that still have high crime, just with different weapons)
What is an Assault Weapon?
BGs for everyone in your house? That is extreme.
Psychological Evaluation I could understand, but how can you trust the doctor will follow the rules, and not be a hack that says no to a perfectly sound person?
Those both violate our constitutional right, so they already got that problem.
Do you know there are no unregulated markets? I mean, other than the black markets, where they sell guns regardless of the laws?
This will not solve anything, and just harm law abiding citizens.
I'm with Fawkes, there is no law that is legal with our Constitution, and there is zero evidence Gun Control works to prevent crimes/killings. It just changes the mode of it, and makes us vulnerable.
@eleven, ah the age old response for someone who knows they’re wrong. Chicago is a really good example of the causation. An actual assault weapon is illegal to obtain. In every way in the US. The problem is that the clowns in this world think that anything with a quad rail is an assault rifle and that’s simply not the case. Physiological evaluation just leads to the inevitable “pay me money or you don’t get your gun” so that idea simply does not work. There are no unregulated legal gun sales. They have to be done through a gun broker with a federal license.
The problem with anti gun people is that they expect that there’s some utopia where people will stop killing each other. There’s not.
Lastly. I lol’d at the school shooting in Australia comment. The country that’s essentially the capitol of people being attacked with knives. The place is proof that removing guns does not solve anything.
@JoeJoestar, I apologize for wasting your time. You’ve clearly already decided that I’m wrong and with that I wish you the best good day sir.
@eleven, it wasn't a decision, you just are wrong. How many school shootings has Australia had since their gun ban? More than the zero they had before their gun ban.
@JoeJoestar, hey knob head, Aussie here. Our per capita murder rate is 0.80, USA 5.3.
I support US gun laws though. Mostly because most gun injuries and deaths in the US are intentionally self inflicted, so you know, that's good. Clearly that self defence thing works against crazy people with guns. Seems to work amazingly well every time you guys have a mass shooting too, all the good guys with guns stopping incidents before they get out of hand... wait no... never really hear that... but yeah... good stuff.
@Jeremy Williams, wtf are you jabbering about? We had shootings before the law changes in 1996, and fewer after.
Know what else we had? No deaths from any of them.
All 6 of them... 6... since 1991, 6 in 30 years. US has that in a month.
@TheMonkeyGod, there was no change in the trend line of shooting rates after the ban, and you didn't have any [SCHOOL] shootings (you're the one who brought it up) until after your gun ban.
@TheMonkeyGod, you’re literally retarded lol.
@eleven, if that’s what you take from someone debating the opposite side, then clearly you think you’re wrong too.
